Randy Gregory, why so hush?

Mere speculation, bro!
I've seen nor heard nothing viable,
That link BDC posted up was from some news source in DALLAS saying "HE IS CLOSE TO BEING REINSTATED",,,, SHEESE! ya,well I'm CLOSE to being a millionaire once I acquire another 999,963 dollars,,,,o_O

Right, it is all vague news but put it all together and it starts to make sense. The lack of action has spoken volumes.

don't understand the secrecy of his whole situation, you'd think he's in the witness protection program, Always very hush on all fronts. Any other player you hear who's applying for reinstatement, there seems to be transparency. All things Randy Gregory have gone almost radio silence the past 18 months.

Only thing I can think of is possibly he has a strong case for medical need for the pot and the NFL's hard stance towards him could have legal implications??

It's because he's this years "secret sauce"

Teams won't know what hit them

There actually has been some recent reporting on it, and the Cowboys have commented on it, but the simple reason it isn’t a big story is that Gregory has never made a name for himself. He has made no notable contribution as a player, so there is no notable story.

I am wondering why he didnt just apply for reinstatement in NOV17 when he was eligible so that if he decided he wants to play again he would have it all taken care of! The other statement that sounds funny is when its reported that he is getting ready to apply for reinstatement. To me its either you apply or you dont!

I hear ya. Something is up. National news when he fails a test, but the FO is acting like he won’t be reinstated and is hush hush. He has reinstated other players so why not give him the chance. If he has been clean for a year then why not. Maybe because he is a Cowboy. Maybe after JJ opened his mouth up so much in the Elliot case when he should have not been suspended. He is taking a quieter approach this time.

I am guessing that it was because he didn't feel that he was ready at that time. I imagine that the NFL told Gregory what they wanted to see from him for reinstatement and he took the time to get his ducks in a row to meet said standard.

I think you are imagining that he just fills out a form and sends it in. I doubt it is that simple. He likely needs to get work history, so many clean tests, statements from doctors and the like, arrange for them to advocate for him in hearings, work with his attorney putting together a strategy and implementing said strategy, and other things not even considered.

Just what they thought he was gonna be. He has never realized his potential. Can’t stay on the field long enough. If the man is reinstated it will be like his rookie year. Lol.

  • Think about it in a reasonable manner!
  • If it was you or I, having been in compliance & eligible for reinstatement ,,,
  • 1)Would bivouac in the lobby of G.Goodells compound till he was forced to contend with you or I
  • 2)remained stoned and missed that whole part about having an N.F.L. career in life
  • The fact being there's ZERO word concercerning him& his efforts in being reinstated should tell you all you need to know
Precisely.
IF he has been eligible for reinstatement and he had a true desire to play why would he delay application? I don't buy that there is some innocent reason. Another year of free agency, another draft, and the longer he is out only reduce his chances of ever playing again.
He's done.

ITS called dope for a reason..see Randy Gregory and others.

According to the drug policy he needs to fill out his application and include:

1. Treatment information
2. Proof he has been clean during banishment
3. Any incidents related to substance abuse
4. Any arrests to include arrests involving those related to substance abuse.

Once the application is submitted he will be interviewed by the Medical Director and Medical Advisor, who will forward their recommendation to Goodell.

Gregory must sign the medical release forms so the Commisioner’s and NFLPA staffs can review his drug history. (Counseling, recommendations, drug tests, progress reports, etc.).

Gregory must submit to drug testing as frequently as the Medical Advisors determines.

He must meet with the Commisioner.

All that needs to occur so that Goodell can render a decision with 60 day of the application being submitted.

As long as Gregory remains under suspension, it’s my understanding(?) that the team can’t talk publicly about his situation.

So unless the league throws us a bone as to if RG has, in fact, applied for reinstatement and it’s being considered, don’t hold your breath waiting for info.

It’s actually nothing more than a blip on the radar for anyone that isn’t a Cowboy fan. We have to remember it is noticeable to us because it affects a team we put a lot of time and energy into and pay close attention to. My bet is most NFL fans either don’t know who Randy Gregory is, or only have vague knowledge of him.

Im not sure what the team can or can’t say, but I know the team can’t have contact with Gregory, and they aren’t part of the reinstatement process. That’s all on Gregory and his agent.

The team’s Director of Player Emgagememt can have bi-weekly telephone contact with Gregory. Gregory can also see the treating clinician on club premises but must leave the premises after the treatment session.

Or just maybe he’s working hard and keeping his nose to the grind and out of trouble.
