For the record, I have not been condescending unless provoked. Simply offering a differing opinion causes people to become argumentative and become a smart *** and that's the only time I become condescending.
Yeah, it's pretty crazy

I have noticed a little difference here in how posters address each other and they seem a lot more concerned about keeping discussions out of the political arena than keeping posters from calling others stupid. There seems to be, at least to me, a tad more negative vibe here than at DC.com; however, I did not go to the News area where I heard it was a lot more like this.

This also has a lot more participants and I do believe some are not really happy with the recent influx of new members and it will take a little time for them to get used to this. But ya know, I saw some of this on the old DC.com with new posters and they did as well because quite a few would hang back before wading in and posting. It takes a little time to figure out how some posters are a little more abrupt than others but that is just their style and I've had "words" with several of them but that's OK. I was part of the old guard on the old site and I think at times we could be a little cliquish and that put some off.

I also recall some long running gun battles on DC.com and I believe I've seen some of those here and not knowing the history can make some seem a little harsh when in reality, they're just folks and folks can get moody. And let's be honest, sometimes it's fun and breaks the monotony to get into it with another poster or two.

I was one of the fans that hung out primarily on the News side but would frequently lurk on the Forum side. I admit the News side was more negative and even now I'm not ashamed of the views. The majority on that side wanted Jerral gone, Garrett gone and even many wanted Phillips gone. The folks were, I'm guessing here, 50/50 on Romo. I did not however feel we were cliquish. Personally I liked hearing from new fans, especially those that would actively post despite what side they were on. This site is basically sterile compared to the old DC.com.

It is different but not having frequented the News section, I don't know how sterile it is. I do find it policed regarding anything that might get political a lot more than DC.com.

Cliquish is not something you or I would feel but I did hear that from several over there. They felt like there were many inside jokes, which is just natural considering how long some of us have been posting together. I would post using Greg's name or Harris' and some would not know who I was even talking about because I was just used to the "old gang".

I am not speaking about negative in the sense of Booger, Garrett or even Romo, where they had to create a sub forum to control it better. Some seem ready to just take the negative on anything, a bad mood kind of thing and I've seen more direct sniping at posters here than on the DC.com Forum but like I said, I heard the News section could get that way.

I am not complaining about this site at all, it is far superior in the technical sense and much easier to navigate on smooth water but it ain't home yet. I am hoping it gets there in time and some more of the MIA's make it over but I still miss home. And what I really miss is me at home, I just don't feel the same and what was at one time just free flowing fun to me, I now feel to be forcing that at times. I was here once before and came back home but home ain't there anymore. I am living in a RV in the Zone......a van down by the river.

Maybe what you need is a nice little time out from the mods, to make you feel more at home.

The biggest difference to me is that I don't check out the DC website any more. Of course nothing of substance will be reported until it's carved in stone. Garrett is the ultimate politician in talking much without saying anything. As for the posters, they're pretty much the same but with some different names and different avatars. I deleted the rest because I suspect I've gone to rambling. I like it here, two thumbs up. I was (will probably always be) on the Romo wagon, winzstar! I was so glad Brett Farve wasn't a Cowboy because of his unpredictability and then we got Romo and I saw the wild ride GB had. The highs were addictive.

It was great when the group of about a dozen would post together discussing everything from politics, religion, cowboy matters and a gamut of matters from sublime to ridiculous. Wish we could do it here.

I hear ya....In many ways this site is better to me than the mothership was. Maybe over protective of the brand but still a good site. I can live with the policing. I use the occasional curse work where allowed but nothing I would not say in front of my grandsons. I support their stance on not allowing the bashing of others opinions. On the News portion there were many that thought they were gospel when it came to the Cowboys and went after anyone that disagreed.

I left sublime to y'all and pretty much honed in on the ridiculous.
