Does It Make A Person A Bad Fan To Hope For Bad Season & Red's Firing?

Seriously, at this point I would root for a 4-12 season if it guaranteed Red's departure.

Now I don't typically approve of fans rooting against their favorite team, but desperate times call for desperate measures. Its like having cancer that has spread in a limb, sometimes you have to amputate the limb in order to save the patient. Garrett is a cancer that must be excised to save the franchise, so some short term pain may be needed for longer-term game. I really hate the fact that Jerry has put me into this position of rooting against my favorite team, but it is what it is.

So yea, I might get called a bad fan, but if it means getting rid of Garrett, I am rooting for a losing season.

Despite going to 3 games a year, I’ve been advocating Garrett’s firing since 2013 when fans blamed Romo for being pass happy and Garrett had Kyle Orten sling the ball 41 times in his first game since 2010.

I just don’t think 4-12 gets Garrett canned. Dak or Marinelli will be the new scapegoats for the 2018 season should that happen

you dont even really need a bad season to have a reason to can a HC. It comes down to what makes the owner/ FO happy. If there goal was to win a Superbowl the clapper should of got canned already . But if they are happy with back 2 back winning seasons and playoff chance here and there .... then you have a problem. How long has Lewis been losing for the bungles ?

I don’t know that I could ever find myself rooting for a losin season, but I agree 100% with your point

no, it doesn't make you a bad fan. Sometimes you have to hit rock bottom first before things can change around. Too many people have been thrown under the bus for Garrett and to uphold the stink that is our front office. All of this win cuz you gotta respect da integrity of da game talk is garbage. We won a pointless game against philly backups, get pushed back 3 spots in the draft and they go on to win the superbowl. So, if losing is what it takes for the FO and fans that support this FO to realize things really stink, then so be it.

Rooting for failure isn't very fan like. So if we go 13-3 and win the Superbowl, you'd be upset?

How bout just let the year play out and then decide to do what makes sense?

You are a disgrace as a Cowboy fan.

That's a little harsh. I understand not wanting to outright wish for a losing season, but it's becoming very clear that Garrett isn't going to take that next step and become a great head coach. He is who is he: a good motivator, but a lousy coach. I'll take a Super Bowl win anyway I can get it and that includes Garrett being the coach, but it's pretty unlikely. I don't think Beast is a disgrace as a Cowboys fan at all and I understand his frustration in wanting Garrett fired. I'm pretty sure he'd rather see a great winning season and some postseason success over seeing a losing season. He's just frustrated and tired, like most of Cowboy nation, with Garrett.

It hasn’t, in no way, become clear that Garrett can’t become a great head coach. He already has 1 COTY award.

there is apart of me that wants to see Dez in philly go off for 200 yards 2 tds against Dallas. And there to be such a tidal wave of criticism at Jones that they are forced to sell the team.

Sorry but I've lived through the crappy years and I dont care to visit them again. The late 80's early 2000's and 2015 is enough. I do not want and will never want this team to tank a whole season. If they just don't have talent like the late 80's and early 2000's okay i get it. But to do it or want it to happen just so JG will get fired? There's some screwed up fandom on this message board.

He won that award because of Dak and Zeke having monster rookie seasons. When it comes to actual coaching like creating game plans, making adjustments, etc., Garrett is one of the worst in the league. I mean, look at what happened when Zeke got suspended and our offense looked like utter garbage. Or the defense when Lee goes down. He doesn't know to adjust or actually coach up players. He's been a head coach for nearly now eight seasons in the league and he hasn't gotten better at any of those things. For god's sake, look at the Eagles. They lose their starting quarterback, LT and MLB and they win the damn Super Bowl. Pederson is another level above Garrett when it comes to actually being a coach. You think Garrett could win a Super Bowl with a backup quarterback, let alone a backup tackle and linebacker? You're dreaming if you think he can.

I doubt it takes that in all honesty. They cut the all time leader in TDs because this staff didn’t like him anymore. They kept Dak in over Romo and moved on from him. They have invested resource after resource on the offense and looks like they will do it again on draft day. All for one playoff win. If this team has the same showing as last season again this year, they are cleaning house and I can’t be convinced otherwise.
I want to believe that too ...
