Why hasn't Dez signed yet

If there was a demand for Dez, there would be a massive rush to sign him quickly. There's just not.

If the Texans released Deandre Hopkins, he'd have 10 offers by midnight.

Maybe you’re right.

But Hopkins may also wait until after the draft when teams feel more pressure to upgrade a hole they didn’t fill in the draft. He could maximize his value.

Dallas didn’t do Dez any favors by releasing him so late—-most of the teams that wanted to be active in free agency already spent their funds on guys that were available.

For example, Commanders gave 40 million dollars to Paul Richardson. I’m sure they would be in the market for a receiver like Dez if not for that. The same can be said for several teams who already spent money on receivers in free agency.

I thought he'd sign with somebody right away, but the fact that he hasn't suggests teams don't want to pay what he probably wants up front and don't want to make time to negotiate until after the draft when they'll have some time to concentrate on a FA signing.

I've seen it written several times the Cowboys would have gained back more salary cap space had they waited until June 1 to cut him. I don't know how accurate that is, but if true the Cowboys actually could have made it much worse for Dez.

They could have designated him for June 1st if they wanted to, like they did with Scandrick.

They chose not to go that route.

And they couldn't have waited longer because the team workouts have started. If Dez was out there and got hurt, they'd be forced to pay him.

No, they waited as long as they could to do this, with no incentive to do so, other than spite.

See that's what I thought, it seemed like there was alot of interest in him after being released, players around the league were reaching out to him....but the fact of the matter is he hasn't visited with anyone.

not at this time of the year, right before the draft.
Hopkins is much younger I be,dive of course there would be more interest.

You Dez haters just can’t let it go.
He’s gone, move on.

2 things: He has baggage and his production has dropped.

In Dallas we tend to over value our players. Dez isn't that good. 28th in receiving yards in 2017. 51st in 2016. GMs know this. There is no mad dash to sign the guy.
This is a likely assumption. It is our nature to over value our own kids.

Dez lovers will spin this as he is flush with offers and he is currently meticulously picking out the highest bidder for his services
