The funniest part about the whole thing is people who say they wouldn’t give a 2nd are gonna be just as angry when we use that pick on another Tight End lol

I actually wouldn't mind if we picked a TE that was great value. I mean, we need a young TE anyway. There are certainly other players and positions I would rather have but if TE is where the value is, I'd be OK with it.

I hope we don't give up a 2nd
I agree.

would he help? yes. but I wouldn't want to pay more than a 3rd realistically. will he be a year older if we wait? yes. then we get him. We are not going to the superbowl next year IMO given all the subtractions and holes we have to fill and a rookie(s) is not the difference maker on this team. Sorry to those who will say everyone is 0-0 and everyone has an equal chance. so lets use the assets this year to draft and create depth and fill gaps and bring him next year for a couple of years and a run at superbowl

Seattle knows those picks aren’t going to happen and no team is reaching. You don’t cave into an organization with a player running to your team after the game wanting to be signed either. The poker face is with Seattle and Thomas now since he is holding out.

I think Dez getting cut and Thomas holding out around the same time is interesting.

With our history in the 2nd, that might be the best round and maybe get their 4th back with him................wow, what was I thinking...that would require someone that could facilitate a trade like that.

I'd give up a 2nd. There's no player in the draft outside of the first round that will impact the team more than him. We could likely get 2-3 years of top tier safety production out of him. I think that is worth a second.

Tell them to pound sand at a 1st and 3rd. And they can stuff their 2nd rounder too.

They are in a pinch if they truly want to dump him.

Kinda random.

I heard Broadus say when Dallas did the Joey Galloway trade that Holmgren told Broadus that all he asked for was one 1st and Dallas gave them 2.

Nothing more than 4th rounder. We live in world that is much different than what it was 30 seconds ago.
Agree 1000%!!! Nothing is forcing us to ante up a 2nd..or even a 3rd. Its on Seattle to get realistic. Seattle need s trade partner more than we do..so its on them to find a suitor. Otherwise they lose him for nothing next year. Pressures on them, period. I would stand fast and not give up anything more than a 4th rounder and a player.

Respectively...NO. We have too many needs to roll the dice using a high pick. Dallas has no reason to allow Seattle to call the shots here. The bargaining power lies with Dallas for a change. Put pressure on Seattle by waiting til draft day or just after. That's how you get them to lower the price.WAIT.

Wait... wait. Holmgren said I want a 1st and they said we really want to give you another one too??? Like that?
You sure this is factual? I know Jerry and the FO were as incompetent as children then, but whoa...

I can see him going into negotiations wanting a 1st and they straight up offer 2 before he can say what he wanted...

I can see that. But to say he told them he wants one 1 and they say no: we give you two 1's is beyond the pale.

trading our 2nd Rd pick sheds new light on why they might take Courtland Sutton @19.
Id like both moves,personally.

Exactly what I was thinking. Earl Thomas for a 2nd for 3-4 years is absolutely fine with me. He will instantly make our defense no longer a joke. He still has a few good years left IMO. Dude's a beast.

How would we be rolling the dice? It is the exact opposite. We know exactly who he is and what he can do in the league. I prefer this type of "rolling the dice" over drafting guys like Jaylon Smith and Randy Gregory.

Anyone remember how 26yo former Pro Bowl FA CB Brandon Carr was gonna anchor our secondary for years to come?

Nobody in their right mind trades away draft assets to bring in a $9mil-per, 29yo safety — unless they’re @1-2 players from contending for a SB.

We’re @4-5 players away from MAYBE getting past the divisional round.

But hey...don’t let me crush any dreams...

True, but now I want them to throw in player. Lets say a kick returner and all my picks back, lol.
