Idk if he is better suited for corner but his safety play was very mediocre. Lacking for a 1st rd pick.

Excellent move by the Boys. I wanted Dallas to draft Byron prior to his selection and have been ecstatic with his level of play. I see him taking the next step in his career and making the pro-bowl. I love his ability to match-up with TEs or WRs and his ability to play FS.

Congrats to Byron.

A lot of times these fifth year options are ridiculous but 6 million? That’s not bad at all. At that number, I’m glad we pulled the trigger.

Just imagine if he did have a breakout year moving back to CB under a new position coach and we didn’t pick up the option. People would erupt on this board when we have to turn around and franchise tag him, resign him or let him walk. This option not only lets us evaluate him another season at a competitive rate compared to the money we would pay trying to replace him on the open market but it protects us in case he does take another step in his fourth year.

Aflac.... the cost of doing business with a young secondary. Not the best cap move but to strip more experience from the secondary would be worse.

He should also benefit from our new secondary coach.
