IMO the powers that be have FINALLY had enuff. 5-3 and he at least gets to the end of the season. But go 3-5 or worse in those 1st 8 and its Linehan as interim head coach. Three and five or less and the outcry from the fans will be so loud and sustained that even Jerry wont be able to stand it. Besides,.... doing it midseason gives the team a bit longer to find the next head coach and to be honest also gives Linehan his audition period to be fair.

I think he gets the season no matter what, barring a complete collapse and the team quitting on him like it did on Wade Phillips.

Look at the record and the beatings they were taking in 2017. That wasn't enough for him to be fired midseason.

3-5 will not do it.

he will need to have a melt down season from the team like Wade Wilson had. Go 1-6 before the bye week. even 2-5 I would question, because Jerry is more loyal to Jason than any other coach he has ever had. Which is why we are still in this position. But that is for another time.

I was typing my post, as you posted this. Was just saying that, he will need a Wade type record, but I even question if that will do it.

I firmly believe he's getting at least one more entire season.

The Joneses absolutely don't want to fire him.

Seriously, it depends how we arrive, if we're constantly getting whipped in the second half of games, a co-ord will be cut at the very least.

If the Joneses has enough, he wouldn’t be here right now. If you were done with a coach...wouldn’t it make sense to fire him in the offseason versus giving him an 8 game season?

Garrett is like family to the Joneses. They want him to still be the coach a decade from now though I do think Stephen especially is getting impatient so he needs results this season...not excuses.

you may be counting how many games you give him but unless i completely miss the total support he's had from the joneses, he's got all year no matter how you cut it and likely beyond.

This is definitely a make or break season for Garrett.

Agreed. JJ won’t mess with the players or remaining staff by canning him mid season. He did that before and didn’t like it. Unless they were winless through 10 games. Then he may see it as coming to the players rescue. But yeah I think he gets the season. And if no playoffs then he fires JG before the playoffs are even over. And his little dog (Linehan) too. Lol

He isn't getting canned unless the team completely collapses..
I think that’s the only thing that brings a change. But it might not. 4-12 didn’t. It would depend on the circumstances.

What if Dak or Zeke get hurt? How many games we winning without them?
