He has a pinched nerve in his neck that flares up...so at what 22 or whatever he is,thats bad right out of the chute. That's a medical issue. He has the perfect frame you want for LB...almost a cookie cutter frame, just like Adam Archeltta and Bobby Carpenter. His coverage skills are not good. Has the body you want, neck aside..but you must question the football IQ and awareness. Same as A.A. AND BOBBY Carpenter,Matt Johnson(mostly medical)...and some would argue Byron Jones fits into this category.
How can you say you must question the foot all i q he was clearly the QB of boise defense. Go back and watch his plays from the Las Vegas bowl. He makes Oregon look like they don’t belong on The field

I'm a Boise State fan. I watched LVE play. He is an outstanding player. Now, I can't promise he will transcend to a HOF player in the NFL but I can see why teams would want to draft him. Just watch his game tape of him playing in the Las Vegas Bowl this last year. He flat out dominated against Oregon.

I'm not a Boise State homer, just like I'm not a Dallas homer, but I do think he will be a good player for the team who drafts him.
I to am a boise State fan and cowboy fan. Good choice my friend

Watched the Vegas Bowl the whole thing. LVE was dominant in this game. Good instincts. Stop the run game of Oregon and half of the points Oregon got was Boise offensive mistake with fumble and interceptions. Involved in almost every play literally. You can skip the Boise St. offense and just watch defense.

I want healthy, durable ballers. What good does it do the team to draft guys that are all projections and work out warriors? I want my draft picks on the damn field, not sitting in the medical tent!
4th round

Why do we need to question his football intelligence?
What have you seen which makes him look like his football IQ is lacking?

Adam Archellta?
The only thing these guys have in common is white skin.

I have heard rumors that he still wants to resign with the raiders.
That's what I read somewhere also. He doesn't want to uproot his family and move out of the S.F Bay area. Rumor has it that he's also asking for $10 MM/yr. I'd like to get him but not at that price. I've written him off at this point unless he has a drastic change of heart.

I haven't seen a hard number but I have read Oakland based local beat writers mention that he made 9mil last year and Bowman still thinks he's worth that much and that he is still a 3 down LB.
But yea, I can't see Dallas coming close in salary for him to uproot his family.

I too want Dallas to draft LVE or Evans because either one of these guys can cover. If the Dallas defense can protect the middle of the field that will take it up a notch.

THE GAME TAPE.
I’ll admit that I’ve watched scouting reports and highlight videos.
But I would imagine that if his football intelligence was lacking he wouldn’t have had those tremendous stats on the year. He did in 12 games what it takes most LBers 2 years to achieve. In every category he was impressive on the field.

When I first heard of this guy I thought his on field stats were a typo. Unlike QBs in Oregon type spread offenses or RBs playing for Wisconsin I don’t know how a LBer can fool us with production. He was a pure monster on the field.

Good morning fans, I know we have a need at LB, and many "so called" experts are stating we should pick L.V. out of Boise @19. Isn't N. Bowman still available and has anyone heard anything of him coming to Dallas lately? I would rather get him to fill the void and draft a LB in the later rounds. Your thoughts?

Were picking a LB with pick # 19 bet on it....or moving up to get him...

Todd Archer predicts the Cowboys will take Vander Esch at 19, if they're unable to trade. For what it's worth, he predicted Taco last year.

Yep.

And last night when ESPN did their final Mock draft they had the Cowboys drafting LVE as well. His great size along with his speed and overall athleticism is probably too much to pass up at a position of great need for us. Stick him in the middle flanked by Lee and Jaylon with Lee acting as his on field mentor until he gets his feet wet and you have the makings of a dominant linebacker corp.

We don't have to take a LB in the 1st round. Hitchens was acquired in the 4th round and worked out for us and now he's
getting paid by the Chiefs. We will be able to get a mike LB later in the draft who can man the position. I really don't
feel that LVE or Evans are mike LB's.

Not totally sold on LVE at 19 but would rather gamble a little rather than take a WR in round 1

Bowman is a band-aid, not a solution. The Cowboys need to get some young, healthy, talented players in at LB.
