Yep.

And last night when ESPN did their final Mock draft they had the Cowboys drafting LVE as well. His great size along with his speed and overall athleticism is probably too much to pass up at a position of great need for us. Stick him in the middle flanked by Lee and Jaylon with Lee acting as his on field mentor until he gets his feet wet and you have the makings of a dominant linebacker corp.
Speed? A 4.65 40 is average for a LB coming out of college.

A 4.65 is fast for a 240 pound LB, Esch is 256.

Average for a 225 lbs LB. He has 35 lbs on that. What is really impressive is his 10'8" broad and 40" vert. At 260.

He is an amazing athlete.

Well we had a pretty reliable LB that we let walk to KC for chump change. Thus creating a big need for LB.

In that 'las Vegas' bowl game a fellow member posted up in this thread the games announcers claim LVE is 6' 4" tall @ 240 pounds,,,and I was thinking that's what I've seen him being listed at elsewhere.

That is what he was listed at by BSU. He was 260 at the combine.

That was months ago. Bodies change.

Terrible at shedding blocks and getting mauled/pushed around inside between the Tackles.

If you are going to watch LVE I think it is important to watch the games in sequence. He did struggle to take on blocks particularly early. At the same time BSU was not asking their LB to stack and shed. You don't see any of their LB doing it. Instead they would try to flank the OL and play off their shoulder.

As the season rolled on LVE's recognition and technique improved dramatically. By the bowl game he was on. Now Broaddus started saying a couple of months ago that Oregen didn't even try to block him on the second level but that is just bull****. They sent guards and the C at him repeatedly. He was flanking them and playing off their shoulders and he was able to get away with it because he was making snap reads. He is a very intelligent and instinctive player.

I would also note that most every college LB sucks at taking on blocks. AL puts out guys that can do it most regularly like McClain and Ragland but most cannot. The best at it in this year's crop is probably Evans -go figure- but he struggled often as well.

I guess so,huh?
I can't imagine packing on 20 lbs.
not with my metabolism,,,and hey!
Thanks for that link,I enjoyed seeing some football, he was dynamite in that game.

You be surprise depending on activities and diet. Years ago I was playing ultimate and lost 30 pounds in 2 months. Course I gained it all back years later. But the point is that it can change drastically.

It's what BSU listed him at. That is what the announcers were looking at. Who knows when that weight was actually made though?

Bodies change but you do not put on 20 lbs of lean muscle in the 2 months of combine prep.

Losing fat is not the same as putting on muscle. He looked skinny at the combine.
