Trade down for Earl Thomas?

Really? Conventional wisdom says that they don't value their 2nd round pick based on the walking wounded and weed heads that we have taken chances with in recent drafts.

Yea, ive been against this from the start, not to mention we play them this year, and liable to see them in the playoffs if we get there...He may be exhibiting now on the injury side as we. .Your points are spot on!

I didn't say he would be good for 4 or 5 years. I meant if they knew he could be. Which is doubtful. I guess I should have elaborated.
so yes, give me a draft pick and see how he plays out. If not, then sleet one high next year.

And there are some good S's in the later rounds this year too.
If we can get ET for a 4th rounder, and get 2 years from if, yes, but otherwise I would not count on a 2nd to get 5 years, no way.

We can go DT in the 1st, select Harrison at S in the 2nd. Get a LB like Jewell in the 3rd or 4th. And this D can be much better right away.

REALLY, i thought right now he is recovering from an injury! Lol Guys point just made about playing with guys not as talented as in Seattle right now good point against this..

It's still giving too much to a team that is backed into a corner, which is what people do when they become emotionally obsessed with a player. :rolleyes:

Seattle has 3 options: pay him, release him, or let him play out the final year of his contract. Tossing them a 2nd round pick as a life preserver would be foolish, especially since you still have to meet ET's contract demands.

He was the unquestioned leader and best player on that defense outside of maybe Bobby Wagner.

He is the best safety in the NFL, and he's better right now than anyone in this draft. By a good margin.

By the time he's done, so will Witten, Lee, Tyron, Zeke, Hurns, Beasley, Williams, and 10-15 more players on this team most likely.

This still doesn't answer the question of why the Seahawks would give up their perennial all-pro safety who isn't even 30 yet for a second round pick? They have more money to keep him than the Cowboys.

A late 2nd is more like a 3rd anyway.
 
Or, that team could trade with SEA directly and they get their 2nd rounder that way instead.

Because he doesn't want to be there. He walked up to Garrett in front of reporters after they won in Dallas and said "come get me."

They can't franchise him. If they keep him, he leaves for nothing.

They got rid of Bennett and Sherman, and Chancellor is likely going to retire. They are in a defensive restructuring.
