Trade down for Earl Thomas?

Fisher backtracking now:

This is the kicker. No doubt Dallas is working behind the scenes on the contract, and if they can't get to a comfortable place, they'll walk away for now.

Or, they could be hell-bent tonight on trading everything to move up and get Derwin James.

Why wouldn't the party just trade with Seattle a pick ahead of us? They get a 2nd and keep Earl.

Because he doesn't want to be there. He walked up to Garrett in front of reporters after they won in Dallas and said "come get me."

They can't franchise him. If they keep him, he leaves for nothing.

They got rid of Bennett and Sherman, and Chancellor is likely going to retire. They are in a defensive restructuring.
Yep and they want to get anything they can for him. When the draft starts they will be hogging a line with JJ. “ ok we will take a 3rd and 5th.” In the 3rd round “ ok will take a 4th and a 6th.”

After the draft we will deal. And I think it’s a mistake. We will grab a safety in the 3rd or 4th round to go with what we have. Grab a D-Line player that makes a impact and our secondary will look better.

THEY wont do anything until dlaw is negotiated for longterm. after the draft this will get play..

Wow, no.

They want to see Lawrence do it again first. And I think they'll just franchise him again in 2019, then say bye-bye the following year.

The guy has back problems and a hankering for the Mary Jane.

I think the perception that Dallas might is enough to make fans, media, and teams think its possible!

I just REALLY like the idea of 3-4 years of a safety that can teach our secondary and linebackers how to play NFL zones. Thomas is smart as hell.

But I do know the financial component of this is sticky.

He has not dirtied for the jane since colllege..His back wasnt a problem last year....Was it?

Actually, it was PEDs that got him suspended.

And backs never go away for good.

What? Where did you get that from?

That was college. In the pros, it's been PEDs. And a back. And mediocre play his first three seasons.

I'd just keep franchising him until we can't anymore.

I didn't know that. Was he suspended in college?

Irving is the one that they will probly dick with some, But it makes zero sense to pay on a franchise, when you can sign a new contract and spread the money..Further, you need it to renegotiate Martin. Nah bro..That aint working!

Regardless of the three seasons, one where he had 8 sacks..He is the pass rusher we developed, Still fairly young..Using the tender to buy time..Wise..Keeping the franchise tag on him..Not wise. ITS only use is to keep him until a new contract is negotiated..See Dez contract.

Wondered if they didn’t try to get terms done with D-Law dueling my last season. Just feel it out. Lol.

But I think he wants to get paid big bucks.

I'd make my selection at 19, then at 50 call Seattle and tell him, you can have our third round pick for Thomas, if they say no, draft a safety at 50.....I just don't see the big demand for Thomas from other teams, so why bid against yourself, Thomas wants to be in Dallas so if Seattle won't take a third round pick, then wait for Free agency next year for Thomas
