Rumor: Mortensen: Witten to retire **merged**

Because he won't be critical and he doesn't have the voice for it.
First off, Romo has one of the worst voices for it, doesn't project and talks from his throat which is why his voice cracks. But, he overcomes that with knowledge and personality. And I can remember how shocked people were when Aikman showed up with that personality.

I don't know if he will be good or not because I don't like most of them because they talk too much but he will have a learning curve and evidently he passed the audition and got the job so I am going to wait and see but now I will have to watch MNF and I'd given that up for entertainment.

No they don't, that's what homers say when they want ignore reality.
The reality is that roughly 18 teams in the NFL are bad, 4 are good, and then the other 10 can win the championship if everything goes right. Dallas is in that other 10. In the NFC, Philly, Minny and LA are legitimately good. Practically the entire rest of the conference could just as easily go 4-12 as 12-4. That means the conference is bad.

Dallas, if healthy, is going to have a good defense and be able to run the football. That gives them a shot against any team in the league.

Witten is an all time great and old school player........ the team will miss him more than these disrespectful morons trying to troll this thread will ever know.

He did not blindside them anymore than they blindsided Dez.
Who are you kidding with such baloney? Witten totally blindsided the team.

Despite some of the opinions I have heard recently here, he will be sorely missed.
Copy that! Also, there is that : breaking point' that every man has where after having read one too many negative disparaging remarks posted about him on a supposedly teams fan base forum, by a bunch of yappin chihuahuas,,,he'll just gladly just
CHUCK IT ALLo_O

I think Romo sucks too.

He didn’t blindside anyone. Blindsiding is retiring the week before camp starts. He got an incredible opportunity to take a great job. He’d be a fool not to take it. He’s played for 15 years, if the cowboys haven’t been preparing for this, they are dumb.

Nice. I didn’t pick up on it.
I didn't pick up on the "former Cowboys" part if that's the way that all three were introduced, but I thought it was odd for active player Witt to be coming out with retired players Roger and Troy. That said, it certainly did not cross my mind that Witt would retire today.

Just last week, Witten said he planned on playing until he turns 40 years old. Now suddenly during the draft he changes his mind and decides to retire. You're not going to call that a blindsided act?

Need.

On the other hand, it might heighten the odds because the Cowboys need some splash to offset the Witten surprise.
But they can draft one in the middle rounds and sign a cheap free agent vet to replace Witten like Marcedes Lewis, Brent Celek, Julius Thomas or Gary Barnage

Cowboys dominate the broadcasting booth

3 of the 4 networks have cowboys as leads. I love my team
