Will McClay: Dez Bryant was inconsistent, couldn’t win one-on-one

If he has anything left, he should get his head on straight & sign somewhere (regardless of money or division) & put it on the field. Or he can continue being a dumb *** ....

I wish the Cowboys would just stay quiet about this. There's no need to talk down about him at this point. They made their decision and if it's the right one for them, that will manifest itself in a good to great performance by the offense in 2018 and/or Bryant struggling with his new team.

What good does it do for them to say he can't do this or that anymore and then if he goes out and has a really good season in 2018 and we struggle? We will look foolish at that point.

Against Washington on Thanks Giving 2016, he did well because as he had motivation because he was called out about returning his salary. One thing players do need to up their level is motivation. And JG doesn't seem to be the motivating type of coach clapping to their bad plays. Actually, we all need motivation at times.

Yea, he actually got into money issues during his first year with the team.Actually here is a youtube on NFL players that had money issues due to them need to keep up with the Jone's. Cowboys are no strangers to letting their status get to their heads and causing on and off field issues.

Many former..and even current players are in big debt,broke,or barely getting by because of poor money management or like you said. Its sad..its an epidemic.Playin football becomes a sidebar when you are so distracted by off the field debt issues etc. These guys have almost no plan for life after football.Dez is clearly in this category. Alvin Harper comes to mind. He was livin in his car at one point and in homeless shelters and dealing crack to eat. Shows us how much an education and a fall back plan matters.

I agree that taking the high road is the route to take, but no one on the team or staff is saying anything we didn't already know and I don't see it being that big a deal. Had Dez not gone nutty on Twitter I bet everyone moves on.

I think McClay was giving the "nice" answer.

The reality is that they cut him for being a turd of a human.

If it was just decreased performance, they would have offered a pay cut.

Dak wasn't accurate on those downfield throws. Some of that was his fault, some of it was Dez's, but it really doesn't matter. If the quarterback and his lead receiver can't connect, something has to change.

This post caught my eye.The bolded is exactly what happened. Something had to change. If they cannot connect, then find someone who can connect with your QB. But what occurred was the other things Dez was doing which made him expendable. You don't just cut your top WR if there is still money in the bank. So all the rumors and innuendo must have a basis in truth.

Romo's comment about Dez being good in the locker room doesn't mean Dez didn't create problems. Sure looks like he is petulant i the All or Nothing.
