You know, based on the OP's knowledge of football, its really a shame that WR Marvin Bracy is being sabotaged here in Dallas. His 40 time equates to Hall Of Fame level player.
You mean a pass rusher who only got 1.5 sacks in 2017 we should be excited about??? A player who barely breaks a 4.9 forty, who is too small to slide inside with his slow time with DTs who can run faster than him? I have enough knowledge to see a bust and Armstrong looks like a bust.. Too slow to stay at either DE or OLB. Armstrong they say played at 233 lbs.So the only hope is us putting this snail on pass rushing downs as a specialist and he is not gonna be special....I can see the other teams right now. "Watch out for Armstrong and his 1.5 sacks."..... I hate the pick and cannot understand what the organization sees in him. His motor??? Great we have Demetric Evans. Evans tried so hard but he was HOT GARBAGE nothing else.

OK, then how are you going to deal w/ his inability to stop the run and his inability to sort through trash?
Sort through trash? He's a DE not a LB. I don't think the Cowboys see an issue with his run stopping. He's a pretty active guy.

This is what everyone is ripping you about. You keep spouting this same foolishness even though evidence presented to you multiple times explains why those stats are misleading. You are a caricature of an emotional sports fan at this point.

The Cowboys don't see an issue w/ his run stopping? Then they are delusional.

Hey, I'm rootin' for the kid as I do for all our players, and I dammm sure hope I'm wrong, but I just don't see it.

You have nothing, so the only thing you can do is hurl insults. I do not need to listen to you anymore because you want to act like a Troll, so say "Hello" to ignore. Give your lame comebacks because YOU HAVE NOTHING!...Remember !.5 sacks and no speed, and he struggles vs the run.

OP, give up the crazy pills. Armstrong will either prove himself or be demoted to PS or cut. Allow the man the opportunity to earn a job on the roster. He's got a great deal of competition to make the roster.

Ive seen massive meltdowns over 1st round picks. Ive seen big meltdowns over 2nd round picks. I seen backlash over 3rd round picks, but a meltdown of this proportion over a 4th round pick? Come on bud. Pull yourself together. day 3 picks are the traits picks. We took him because of his long arms & bend. We wasn't going to take Settle or Hurst at 116, White is not much better then what we already have at SS in Frazier, And we still ended up getting our TE at 137. Marinelli feels he can develop him into something. We won't know if he was worth a pick or not till the end of his 3rd season.

Agree. I'm not crazy about the pick myself, but in the 4th? Not a terrible pick.

I don't get this pick. I think this is our worst draft pick and rumors we thought of trading up into the 3rd to get him. WHY? He is 250 lbs and can't even run in the 4.7s barely breaks a 4.9 forty. He had 1 sack in 2017. All I hear is excuses."Well he is overcoming a knee injury".."Well he was doubled teamed"..."Well you know he is young at 20 years old". This is what I do know,HE DOES NOT HAVE WHAT IT TAKES....Beating Orlando Brown for a sack is really not that great or a thing with Orlando Brown running a 5.7 forty. WHAT AM I MISSING? ,AM I TAKING CRAZY PILLS OR SOMETHING??

Here’s an idea - let the kid play a game before branding him a bust.

You should learn to control your temper then. His jumps and agility drills are good. What do you think is more important for a DE? Being able to leap forward and be quick or run distance?
Wasn't there talk on the draft board here about him possibly being moved to play LB? Kinda like what Jimmy did with Greg Ellis,I think it's that versatility they saw in him with that pick.

i think this shows how hard the front office works to find a steal.
lets hope they found one.
i think we had a pretty good draft

I personally don't buy this story from the FO.

So, they tried to trade back into the 3rd round to take Armstrong, but apparently failed to do so. So the 4th round rolls around, pick-after-pick and they just sat on their collective hands defeated?

After failing to move back into the 3rd to supposedly grab Armstrong, wouldn't they try to then move into the early portion of round 4 to ensure they secured him? Not to mention it would have been less costly to do so than trading back into the 3rd round.

I think the guy they wanted was Tarvarius Moore who got selected at #95.

Good point, but sometimes teams think a specific other team or teams has a player rated higher than most other teams. They might habe thought a team or teams at the backend of the third were more likely to take him than teams at the beginning of the 4th.

i dont see why armstrong is not a good pick.
armstrong's physical stats are very similar with dlaw.
this is exactly how you try to get a bargain by picking someone with the right physical traits but with sack stats are depressed by change in defense system in his senior year
if you can 2 armstrongs with 2 4th round picks, one will likely work out.
and that would be a bargain.

armstrong stats are listed next to dlaw stats
armstrong is slightly taller and somewhat bigger
armstrong's arms are 1" longer
dlaw is slightly faster, but the important 10 yard split is different by only 0.01 sec - 1.69 vs. 1.68
however, armstrong is more agile - with better cone and shuttle scores
explosiveness wise - about the same as one had better broad jump and the other had better vertical.

ARMSTRONG----------------------------------DLAW
Height: 6'4"-----------------------------------------6'3"
Weight: 257----------------------------------------251
Arm length: 34.75"--------------------------------33.75"
Bench Reps: 20 PD(25)-------------------------20
40 Yrd Dash: 4.87---------------------------------4.8
20 Yrd Dash: 2.85 PD(2.79)---------------------2.8
10 Yrd Dash: 1.69---------------------------------1.68
Vertical Jump: 30 PD(33)------------------------34.5
Broad Jump: 09'10"-------------------------------112 (9'4")
20 Yrd Shuttle: 4.23--------------------------------4.31
3-Cone Drill: 7.12----------------------------------7.46

Not sure about the rest of you, But I'm gonna trust what Will McClay and the team thinks about the pick instead of some guy whos not happy because they didnt pick who he would have gone with. But, like the old saying goes. Opinions are like hineyholes.... everybody has one. But some stink more than others

Yeah, his reasoning is just weak. My problem w/ him is his name. We need players w/ tough names like Jack or Josh or Sweat. Or maybe some cool initials like CJ or PJ. Dorrance? He should be writing poetry and wearing a courderoy jacket!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
