If the Cowboys underperform again this season and Jerrah finally decided to make the change, who would be your top candidate? Not sure if he would want to coach again but I think I would like to see the fire of Bill Cowher on the sidelines. If not him, Kris Richards is appealing. What say you?

What we'd like for a coach and what we'll get are going to be on opposite ends of the spectrum. I want Jimmy Johnson back but know better.

No legit HC will come here as long as Jerry has a breath in him....and I don't blame them...........they should be judged on their body of work...NOT be judged for doing what a want-to-be GM thinks it should.
Your right! Thats why the Cowboys need to look at the best qualified candidates that are coordinators. I wanted Jason fired a couple years ago and wanted the Cowboys to go after Kyle Shanahan. Sean McVay was available then too.

The Cowboys need to take a look at what the Raptors did! The fired their head coach Dwane Casey two days after being named coach of the year by his peers.Toronto finished the regular season at 59-23, the second-best record in the league behind the Houston Rockets. They were also swept two years in a row in the playoffs. Casey posted a 320-238 record in seven seasons with Toronto and is the franchise's winningest coach.

Last I heard Casey was contacting Garrett to ask him how he has still managed to keep his job!!

There hasnt been a real suggestion yet, so I'll give a couple.

David Shaw from Stanford or Lincoln Riley

Nick Saban btw..is another real possibility. The only way he would come back to the NFL is if its to coach Dallas. He's the polar opposite of JG. Not sayin that's bad or good, its just a known fact.

Richard 100% on board WITH THAT IDEA. Cowher had his day in the sun..I don't think his heart would be in it at this point.

Bill Parcells disagrees.
What do you think caused him to want to leave?

That happened after Jerry and Jimmy had their long private walk around the practice field when Jerry was, as speculated trying to talk Jimmy into returning which of course Jimmy declined. Jerry knew he new he needed a "big name" due to the impending new stadium project. Jimmy suggested to Jerry to bring in Parcells.

Your response may have some validity to it the first year or two but once Jerry returned to his old ways of being Jerry, the Jerry and Parcells marriage was going to be doomed.

Should've been Gruden, but at this point I'd take anyone. Wishlist #1 is Garrett gone. After that I'm happy! That doesn't mean Jerry won't screw up that decision, just means that coach won't get a dozen years.

I thought they were similar....that's where JC learned the "process" from Saban .

Bill is on record that he quit because he didn’t have the will to do another season, and that he liked working with Jerry and Stephen very much. I know it’s convenient to the narrative to have that not be the case, but it is what it is.

The same types of poster who wanted Zimmer fired as DC here now want Garret gone, and Zimmer to replace him. For the same reasons. People don’t separate losing and coaching well, and don’t accept that good coaches can have teams with bad records.

lol, Idget, that's a pretty generic statement by Parcells to avoid having to explain the real underlying reasons.........it's kind oo fn line with the generic greeting of " hi, how ya doing?"...it's not that one really cares, it's just a generic opening statement......I think it's pretty well known that no one can or wants to get along with Jerry for long.........like his fellow owners around the league displayed with his rift with Goodell.....not many were on his side.
