Have we closed the gap on the Eagles?

Hi, I appreciate that being from the UK I dont have the history etc of watching NFL but I have followed the game for 30 years as best I can. Having just having watched 'All or Nothing' I dont see how the Cowboys can become a Superbowl team when the owner doesn't allow his coaching staff to fully run the team, is too much involved in daily tasks and senior management seem to be mainly the Jones family. The Cowboys need to have the best people in those positions and that should be the only basis for their appointment.
Hello Dick, can you give your views on how the Jones's don't allow the coaches to do their jobs?
I interested because your outside the American culture and any insight you have I'd like to hear it.

After watching these two games against the eagles ( the first one without elliot) and the second one against the eagles backups, I wonder if our Oline can hold up against their Dline.

What do you guys think? I’m cautiously optimistic that we did a little.

No as any Great Def line can overcome any offline esp when you have a QB who lacks the ability to GUT them out when there playing the run or panics when there blitzing.....

If you take off your homer glasses the honest answer would be no. Even in 2016, we barely beat them at home. And that was Pederson's first year and Wentz was nowhere near as good as he was last year. They are pretty solid overall talent wise and have no real weakness. They are also well coached. They did lose some coaches so that might help us this year.
I tend to agree but I also don't think they are "37-9" better than us as well talent wise. But coaching, there is a gap. Well was last year.

I don’t think the Eagles were ever the class of the NFC to begin with. I think we probably will compete with them all things being equal. Their defense is more than a little better than ours, though, and the offenses are comparable. Or were before we lost Dez and Witten. Neither game last year was a good barometer of how the two teams stack up.

The Giants, though, might have closed a lot of ground this offseason, too.

I think our defense will start being thought of as one of the better defenses in the league within the next couple of years.

Before September, it’s difficult to say which teams really improved in the offseason. At this point, everything’s on paper. On paper, it certainly appears we have improved.

When the live bullets begin to fly in September, only then will we really begin to get a real look at how much talent has been added and how well they can function as a team.

Until the regular season starts my answer to the question, “Have we gained on the beagles?” will have to be “Maybe, but we’ll see.”

Doug Pederson skyrocketed past a longtime tenured HC n JG...that's too much to overcome. Plus, Howie Roses is rear naked choking Stephen n player acquisitions atm, however that may change n a year or two.

That said Cowboys probably split vs PHI, yet miss th playoffs.

I think we did. I have renewed hopes for the O-line with the addition of Flemming and Williams. I do think our O-line can hold up against their D-line. We did what they did in 2017, added some nice depth. IMO that was the Eagles key to success in 2017. LT goes down, another steps right in. LB'er goes down, another stepped right in. QB goes down, another steps right in. They caught the same lightning in a bottle in 2017 that we did in 2016. The difference, the Gals didn't face Aaron Rogers in the playoffs. Imagine if that had been Rogers instead of Matty ice in the playoffs. Matty Ice has always melted under pressure. Rogers doesn't. What happens to their D-line if Mikey B is suspended?

Doesn’t feel like it. Maybe last season’s flameout is dampening my outlook. Unfortunately it feels like they’re peaking while we’re puking.
