Have we closed the gap on the Eagles?

again, those numbers by themselves are useless. maybe one guy dumps the ball of to his RB more...maybe one guy goes deeper more...

As I keep saying, Wentz has the strong arm, so he gets a pass, and Dak gets crucified.

WR? Really? Come on man.

Why not? They don't have a great WR corp although they should be better. I loved Jeffrey but he should dominate. He's merely a good WR. The maybe is because I don't know how a couple will play and Gallup is a rookie. He's more NFL ready than most rookie WRs are though. Brown has basically the same metrics as Dez did and he's bigger. He works on his game. But he might just be a JAG. I don't know yet but I have an opinion. Williams doesn't get the credit he deserves. He's a decent #2/3 WR. Beasley is a very good SL. If they don't double-team him and Dak grows more comfortable with tight passes, he'll do well again this year.

Wait until the end of the season before passing judgment. Hopefully, we'll both be surprised.

We have closed and they have a target on their back....we play in the best division in the NFL so they will get everyone's best....

There's a reason no nfc east team has won back to back in a decade

What gap?????

We shut them out last year without Tron and Irving

I am going to assume this post is for sarcastic fun and you are not actually serious.

An intelligent poster like yourself knows dam good and well that if that game meant anything to Philly they would have smoked us, just like they did in the first meeting. (37-9 Philly, first meeting)

Have we closed the gap on the Eagles?

Is Pederson still coaching them and Garrett still coaching us? Yes? Then No

I don't care how many chances Wentz takes. If Dak was taking as many chances and his accuracy didn't improved, you guys would still bring up his accuracy issues. But because Wentz has a stronger arm, he gets a pass. And Wentz has the benefit of recievers that run routes and can get open, unlike what Dak had last year.

For their careers, Wentz 1,047 passes attempted (61.5%), Dak 949 passes attempted (65.2%). Wentz has only attempted 98 more passes than Dak. Whoppie.
Comparing Wentz and Dak is about like comparing a rifle and a pistol. Even Wentz first season he was putting the ball into tight windows all over the field but WR were dropping the ball. Wentz can make every throw all over the field and with Dak there are certain throws you dont see him attempt.

not even close if were being impartial. Eagles have better: QB, WRs, TE, entire Defense. And Eagles OL graded out better than Dallas last year but we can call that a push. Only position I see Dallas better at is RB. We haven't even gotten into HC & GM where I also give the Eagles the edge. Dallas is in for rough next few years and fans should prepare themselves accordingly.

Sometimes its hard to judge your own team because of bias. I dont know if thats the case with you. But its easy for me as an Eagles fan to give a honest opinion. Yes Eagles have different strengths than the Cowboys and vice versa. Cowboys should of been contending since 2014 ..... there is only a couple things that prevent that . The Cowboys do not have the depth, the Coaching, and the GM/FO. BTW most teams starters should not be HUUUUGE gaps because of the parity in todays NFL. Im also not saying there is not a gap , because there really is and I again said what puts that gap there.

Exactly you can not compare the 2 ... They are different types ofQbs in different systems. Dak does not have to be Wentz in the way Cowboys run the offense. Dak is actually imo perfect for the run first / gun O.

Wentz is a rifle alright , one with a broken firing pin LOL . He takes way too many hits . Eagles were very lucky to have Foles . Wentz reckless play could have finished there season without a great backup

Dak is like an old 1911 reliable and fights to the end . You can always improve if you are healthy and can stay on the field . Hard to help your team with no good ligaments in your knee .

I dont agree the NFCE is the weakest division in the NFC last year and most likely this year. Ya it has the most sbs but its not really stacked right now.

Fair enough but I see Dallas and Philly as both being SB contenders and NY is going to have a rebuilt line with a phenomenal ground game...washington had an awesome draft and has a very good qb now....

I see the division being similar to what the Nfc south was last year with all 4 teams in the hunt the last 4 weeks....thats my opinion and if that is the case then I'll stand by my original statement.

Carson Wentz is in the same mold of Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Joe Montana. But starting up. Cowboys should target wild card slot for next 10-15 years. Should think of pulling Jets or Bills vs Pats like upset over Eagles and change NFC seedings where we beat them by a fluke or gadget play.

I see philly as a sb contender and dallas at the middle of the pack and the giants and skins below average. That's why I say that but it could change. I think dallas could be a contender next season with another solid offseason.

I hope for the cowboys sake that my opinion is right! ....sometimes you never know with the NFL...

The only place where Wentz and what's his face are compared as if it's a legitimate debate is on these Cowboys message boards. Outside of that it's a no brainer. Like comparing Brady and Bortles. Do we really need to waste the time?

We screwed the pooch in April of 2016 and it is franchise altering as well as crippling. Worse yet the Eagles reaped the benefits of it and that pay off has only just begun.

Go Cowboys.

After watching these two games against the eagles ( the first one without elliot) and the second one against the eagles backups, I wonder if our Oline can hold up against their Dline.

What do you guys think? I’m cautiously optimistic that we did a little.

Call me crazy but I don't fear the eagles. I feel like we matchup well. Their D line vs our offensive line. I'd take our guys any day. Dez wasn't getting open and neither was Jason witten. Beasley didn't have a good game vs them last season but that is last season. I really feel Beasley won't let that happen this time and My hope is that jarwin and or gathers can have a good season around the impact of say a first round rookie. We will say 600 plus yards and 6plus TDs. We need them to make an impact. Gallup is going to surprise people. Noah brown may be a surprise this season. Allen Hurns is going to make a huge impact I'd bet on it. He's going to have 900 plus yards and 8+tds. We have a lot of questions because of lack of experience or maybe just exposure because we have talent. We just need to put it on the field in the regular season. Because they aren't proven they are looked at as a big zero. We will see. This is a season where the coaches must earn their money. The Superbowl champs are in our division. A team with a Superbowl qb is in new York in our division with new tools. We need to bring the youth up to speed

Mighty congenial of you!

its ok that you have no fear. Not sure how that changes what happens on the field, but ok. Do you want to know the biggest difference between the two teams? The Eagles don’t have nearly as many “if’s” connected to whether they will contend.

Their DL has given us fits at times over the last few years.
