I Hope someone that knows how NFL Championship rosters are built takes over...someone not qualifying to be hired because they are related to the owner.

Well when Jerry is gone ...Its a Huge Jones family already installed into the Cowboys . The grandchildren are already learning the " Family Business" as they are seen in the War room and everywhere else. Maybe when you get to John Jr he will be smart and hire someone that is held accountable and able to be fired

Jerry still has the final word. Stephen has the same role and position he always had.

Fans want to believe Stephen is more in control because we’re seeing some better decisions but we’ve seen them before with Jerry.

Not much has changed except who’s influencing Jethro and Son. Mark your calendar when the sounder team decisions begun. With Jason and Will.

This guy disagrees.

Jerry wasn’t going to draft Johnny. That was all about showing interest in case Johnny made it so he wouldn’t look like he passed over a star QB.

Jerry even said draft morning as long as Romo was the starter there was no need to draft heir apparent. At that piintvJerry thought Romo was going to start for 4 or 5 more years.

Some fans use Jerrys rhetoric towards Johnny as some kind of passing the baton to Stephen. Lol

We’ve seen better personnel decisions and drafts under Jerry and Stephen before when Jimmy and Bill were here.

Tell me when these better decisions begin to take shape again? About 2011?? What other common denominator happened about then?

I’d suspect this is why Jethro and Son are so pleased despite coaching weaknesses.

The future is already here. But he’s walking the sidelines now.

He’ll step up into the front office where he should be now ( he’s a walk around GM) hire a HC and run the franchise closer to how most teams do.Stephen will assume President and Will if still here promoted to VP. If not Jason will assume that title similar to Elway.

This is what Jerry meant when naming Garrett” future of the Cowboys” and why he’s gone to such extremes to protect Garrett and why Jason has remained here despite the other offers and criticism. Nothing else makes sense. Think about it. Garrett conducts himself like he’s going to inherit the ranch. But they can’t come out and say that publicly for obvious reasons.

I dont see Steph doing that or the Grandkids ... They have big shoes to fill " in their minds" Because of Jerrys constant peacocking, Superbowls and now being HOF Owner. I dont know many children that dont want ot be more successful then their parents. THE ONLY way Dallas will get back on track is if the Jones family stays as owners and lets football people do their jobs. I can call a cat a dog all I want even until Im blue in the face ... still does not change the fact a cat is a cat and a dog is a dog.

I really don’t see any of Jerry’s kids playing the same role Jerry has.

It would be very unusual for the siblings to agree for one of them to take that kind of over bearing role or responsibility with equal partnership unless of course one of them agrees to buy the others out.

For example if Stephen suked do Charlotte and Jerry jr fire him? Of course not and why there could be problems.

Nope. They’ll either all sell out, agree to hire someone like Garrett or agree to sell out to one. Most of the teams who carry on the family legacy do so to one heir not three siblings with equal partnership but letting one run the team.

One exception would be if Jerry left team to his wife. Then the siblings could continue as it is until she dies.

They already have a structure built in it seems .... They call it the family business. They all have top level titles across the office. They have been getting groomed for years to take over. You see them in the War Room , team meetings ect ect. Kids tend to think just like their parents with things like that , then think well I know better and can do it better. I have no doubt these kid were brought up in a way thinking their poo smells like roses. Maybe you guys will get lucky and when it gets down to John Jr he steps backs and hires football guys. But right not Steph has a lot to prove because of Pops

I was in a family business and did business with several others. It would be unusual for siblings with equal partnership to allow one to have more control in operations.

Maybe your suggesting Jerry is going to leave a bigger share to Stephen than the other two?

I think they will share control evenly. BUT they still will have different jobs , just like RL some people are meant to be doctors and some meant to be trashmen. Stephen has been getting groomed for GM imo , while John has been doing the business side. charlotte is doing her own thing as well.... imo I think she could run the Cowboys better then ANY of them including Jerrah

I dunno , if they are making good money Im not sure it would matter. I honestly think thats Jerrys problem right now . He feels he has nothing to prove... he has his gold jacket , he has 3 Sbs and the most valuable franchise. Im sure he wants to win but I dont think he is hungry for it like he was 20 years ago

So, you're telling me that a guy who wants to win hires one of the worst GM's in football and keeps him employed even though the team has consistently not won? Why would you say he wants to win? Apparently not all that much.
