How will Dak's 3rd year turn out?

Anybody's guess. There was an unreal rookie year and a come down to earth second year.

I think along the lines of his rookie year as being a gift. That is what made the pain of losing in the playoffs so bad. You will never see him have a season like that again.

mr zebra.... or runs it himself sir...no i am quite aware of what an RPO is
Wrong. There is a big difference in how colleges run it and how it is run in the NFL. It is a pre-snap read. He will have the same types of runs he has had the last two years, they will NOT be increasing his rushes. Dak is a QB that can beat you with his feet from time to time. Just like Rodgers, just like Wentz, but he isn't a running QB and the RPO scheme is not a running QB scheme.

You might know of him this year as a good offensive line and running game will mask his deficiencies.

This is a contract year. He's been great under pressure so its numbers resembling his rookie year but can't hold it all season.

As I’ve said in other posts, I think he’ll be fine this year and bounce back. My main concern is what will he be like 2-3 years down the road if our O line isn’t one of the best and if Zeke isn’t here, isn’t as good or gets injured?

Basically, say he has a good year and we hand him a huge contract. Will he be worth it if he doesn’t have one of the best O lines and RB’s in the NFL? Based on last year, no, he wouldn’t be and if and when that happens we’ll probably have already handed him a huge contract and end up with a Joe Flacco type of situation. That would be a nightmare.

In other words, he can obviously drive the bus and be successful when all 4 wheels are turning but will he be able to even keep control of the bus if a wheel or two goes flat?
Hopefully he'll win a SB like Flacco did first. lol Actually Flacco was a pretty good QB until after the SB. Don't know what really happened to him.

I'll take the optimistic approach-
OL and Zeke get back to dominating and
Dak as a young QB has a better year and can manage the game.
26 TDs 10 INTs- 3 rushing TDs.
3600 yrds- 62% completion percentage.

hawkeye--- 25 td's and 6 int's and 3700 yds would be great...the 64% comp i have more confidence in

add 400 yards rushing and 8 rushing TD's and that's an amazing year for a QB in a run first offense.

I understand that , but if Dak never runs , why would teams even fear the threat of a run?

Dak ,in the new offense, will run..

Also , at some point, defenses will catch on and the RPO fake will only give defensive ends more time to get to the QB.. there's a reason why most passes come from 3 step drops.

All NFL defenses needed was 1 year of tape on Dak and then the roof caved in for the young man!
Last season was the start of his demise as no defense is scared of his arm talents and running Zeke to the ground will simply not get it done!
Let these Dak supporters have there say here the proof is coming soonest at a NFL stadium and trust me it will get down right ugly out there when Dak is DONE!

With a healthy All World OL and league leading RB his effectiveness should be improved. His recieving Corp is questionable losing our 2 most productive recievers in Dez and Wiiten.

Improving upon our 26th ranked passing offense will be critical. As long as Dak doesn’t have to overcome injuries on OL or absence to Elliott carrying our offense we should be able to move the ball against average to less than average defenses. Pending any upgrades in passing game will effect more production against the better defenses and elite teams.

Defense is where most of my hope for improvement rest . Our DL IMO has the greatest opportunity for improvement . If it can cause disruption and havoc on LOS it could aide the more suspect secondary and back 7 providing more opportunities for offense and making key stops to force 4th downs and turnovers possibly even closing out games if we have the lead.

poor Dak...he may not make north of 20 mil a year...maybe only 10-15 million..poor Dak..feel sorry for him...how will he get by???...hehehe..actually i love mike white...the dude has both an arm and touch..beautiful downfield arcs on ball to fall into hands of receivers...he was a 3 round grade and we got him in 5th...secretly i hope he becomes our franchise QB
Kiper sure liked White.

dear fellow cowboy fanzone freaks--- i will be honest...i personally do not know how Dak's 3rd year as QB will turn out?...i hope he becomes all and more we all hope he will be...but i dont know...do any of you fanzone freaks have a better idea how Dak will do?

thanks for your consideration in this matter

Dak will be fine or as fine as the O-line allows him to be. I had expectations for Romo early in his career, I've learned not to expect anything, only their best. Some don't even give that on a consistent basis. Prediction for what it's worth? Somewhere between what we saw in 2016 and the first 8 games on 2017 assuming the O-line performs and Zeke stays on the field.

We have a few diamonds in the rough. Dak still has a few rough edges but guess what makes a diamond.... time and pressure. What makes a brilliant diamond is the cut and clarity

I feel good about Dak going out and producing at a high level this season. I think he will learn from mistakes, I believe he has the physical ability but in my view the biggest asset of any QB is the 6 inches between their ears.

26 TDs 10 INTs- 3 rushing TDs.

This seems reasonable...though 62% would be disappointing.
But if he can have a 16 TD-int differential, not bad.
Assuming the run game is completely dominant and the defense improves, that could be a winning season.

I think he will have another decent year but his stats will go down. This team is going to run run run....you lose Witt and Dez those numbers have to drop. Slow start to the season but numbers will pick up as the year progresses...so book these numbers...

3750 yards passing 16 td 11 ints 6 rushing tds
