Although some don't like to use the word, rebuilding is exactly what this team has been doing the last few years. It has been very impressive what they have done in the last two years alone. Not only that, but they have done it by using primarily the draft. And being overly cautious in FA will be paying dividends come next year with nice cap relief. Can they develop a complete team without signing and big name guys in FA going forward? I have my doubts.

This team has been in constant “rebuilding” mode since Jason Garrett took over. By now this is obviously how they want to build the team. Draft well, and plug in 2nd/3rd tier free agents where needed.

I don’t see that changing anytime soon. By the time this phase of the rebuild is over, we will be figuring out who to keep along the OL. The good side of this is that this philosophy will keep us in contention for a division crown much of the time as long as Dak and Zeke can play at a high level.

I think this team has the talent now to make a run but may peak next year with one more draft and the development from this year....

I think we have about a 4 year window that is just starting to open

The unproven players form the 2016 draft will shinie this year. That class could be pretty darn amazing.

Getting (having?) to pick 4th was a major boon. The next draft was loaded all the way to the 6th round. We completely revamped our secondary. This last draft sounds decent & it looks like we've now revamped our receiver corps.

Seems like the FO was as tired of the gradual process as we were & decided to shake it up a bit.

What do teams turn over every season? A third of their roster? It's pretty much a constant rebuild in the NFL. Though it is a bigger deal when you're turning over the QB position.

The team does a good job adding talent from the draft and college free agency. They need to use veteran free agency a bit better than they do right now, but there's a limit to how much of that you want to do.

Hate or love Dak the fact he went 13-3 his first year and 9-7 his second year should get more praise then he does. Most teams can't stay competitive when changing franchise QBs. We didn't make the playoffs this past year but were in the hunt all the way to the last 2 weeks even with all the distractions, suspensions and injuries. When healthy we can compete with any team in the league

Rebuilding defense for sure. Last year cleaned out old d-backs. This year let some lb's go. No more mayowa.

More like the offensive line will be retiring and we'll be lamenting the lack of Super Bowl success in their standout careers like we have with Ware, Romo and Witten.

I think you have to supplement because it just takes too much time to build strictly through the draft. Garrett started his process by revamping the offense, particularly the line, but we couldn't win because we weren't doing much on the defensive line other than adding players like Selvie and Mayowa.

Now, we've been supplementing that offense some (to replace losses) while trying to build that defense, but it's possible it's left us without much of a receiving corps with Dez's demise and Witten slowing down and then retiring.

We still aren't completely done on defense with possible needs at 1-tech and at least one safety spot, so the question is whether the still-building defense and running game/offensive line are at a high enough level to compensate for a questionable receiving corps ... or if players at WR and TE can outplay their value.

I think what we've got can be good enough to get us back into the playoffs, but isn't complete enough to put us in the Super Bowl. I hope some unexpected players step up to prove to be the difference between being playoff-caliber and Super Bowl-caliber (and make up for not going after top FAs at those positions) but I don't expect it.

There is too much focus on the Cowboys I think..

There is no such thing as a rebuild unless you’re starting a rookie QB.

The Cowboys sure as heck weren’t rebuilding with our roster. Dak walked into a perfect situation.

Every team faces these challenges.

The patriots constantly “rebuild”.

Big roster turnovers are just normal now days.

Now that is spot on!! Some of you are giving this FO to much credit. We are assembling better talent through the draft and finally this off season some what taking advantage of Free Agency, but we can still upgrade through Free Agency and have the money to do it. To put us in better position to beat the playoff caliber teams we need to go out and get a stud run stuffer in Hankins and a thumper MLB in Bowman( excellent insurance as our rookie learns the NFL game). I would give the FO an A+ if they went out and got those 2, along with what they have already done. I believe we would have a top 3 defense if we had these 2 players.
