Rumor - Gronk on the Move

I live in Massachusetts and a lot of the local reporters are floating big time moves coming from Foxborough. One called it a "9.5 on the richter scale". Now I want to preface this by saying there has been NO connection to the Cowboys thus far, but just thought it'd be interesting to discuss the possibility given the obvious need at TE, cap space (he'd be ~9M against the cap), and Jerry's (though recently diminished) love of the big move.

I don't see an obvious need at TE, with the team and how they view/like their young TE's.

An often injured TE contemplating retirement....Gronk is an absolute freak and incredible football player, but what is his value at this point?
I have no doubts that Belichick would trade Gronk away in a heartbeat, I just can’t inagine a team giving up any kind of premium assests to get him

Also this is being shot down pretty much everywhere already

A walk in starter that is better than anyone on this roster. I would definitely be interested.
However he is injury prone now and severely limits how much I would give in a trade or contract.

Patriots would trade him for a 1rd. Then they would win a SB. Gronk is on the decline. He's as fragile as Sean Lee is. Unless he goes to the Steelers, Egals or Packers the numbers for the rest of his career will only be "very good" to "above average" instead of what we've seen in the past.

If we get Earl Thomas,Kendricks AND GRONK...then I'm on board 100%. If the first 2 moves don't happen, I would pass on the Gronk trade. We are more than 1 player away,THAT IS WHY.

Gronk is THE ALPHA DOG,period...and a great teammate. If he can accept his role, then MAYBE I would think about doing it..but the caveat is we go solidify the linebacking group/safety. Otherwise, we will be great offensively but mediocre on D.

Gronk down the seam and Zeke in the backfield? It wouldn't be fair!

Three back surgeries, a torn up knee, and a broken forearm in his past. When he's on the field, he's an electric matchup nightmare, and as productive as any tight end that has ever played. But, with that injury history, he's not long for this game. No way that I trade anything of value for him.

I'm pretty sure Garrett would be on board; he's a season away from being fired if Dallas doesn't make the playoffs.
