Really? Well let's look at the Seahawks - Corps: Doug Baldwin, Tyler Lockett, Jaron Brown.

Baldwin? Hasn't gotten more than 800 yards but once in the last 4 years. Never gotten more than 5 tds the last 4 years. His stats are pretty close to T. Williams, who a lot of folks here think isn't a worthwhile receiver, but Baldwin does the same and is a top receiver?
Lockett? His best year, last year of 3, he had 664 yds and 6 tds. Yeah he's great, right?
Brown? 5 years in the league, a TOTAL of 1,177 yards and 9 tds, or about 235 yards and 1 td a YEAR.

Commanders?
Corps: Jamison Crowder, Josh Doctson, Paul Richardson

How many of those 3 are top notch NFL receivers?
Crowder averages 746 yds/4tds, Doctson 284/3 and Richardson 325/2.

I'd be willing to say Dallas is not a lot better than those teams, but worse? Don't think so...

TWilliams is terrible. Yes, I would take Baldwin and Josh Doctson over anyone we have on the current roster. Since you want to talk about potential, those wrs cores have more talent and potential than ours and we haven't even talked about TE options which is another position where Dallas comes up far short.

Well I don't share your opinion, but that's fine, we can disagree...

The best thing I heard this off season was that Dak said he wanted to be the best QB the Cowboys have ever had, so I think he'll manage with the current set of WR's.

Why do you think 2016 is a better comparison? Defecnses adjusted to us in 2017. Even when Tyron was playing the offense wasn't clicking very often. I think this offense is closer to what we saw in 2017 than in 2016 until I see otherwise.

1st, the OL had more problems than just Tyron. At times they had issues at LG and at RT. They've taken steps to correct the OL problems, even if Tyron goes down. No more Bell or Chaz Green! Also it took La'el Collins time to adjust to RT, but reportedly he's looking good at the position now.
2nd, I think new WR coach Sanjay Lal is going to do some very good things with our WRs. If so, that should help. JMO.

Hurd stuck in the NFL for 6 years, T. Will has been on the Cowboys for 5 and signed a 4 year extension a year ago. What do you call "having the talent to play in the NFL"? 10 years and 5 Pro Bowls? In my opinion if a receiver sticks around for at least 4 years he has the talent to "play" in the NFL, doesn't mean he's top notch but if he didn't have the talent he'd been cut after a year or two....
Not necessarily. Many times players such as Hurd stick around as backups and STers, despite not having the ability to "play".

You are making an argument for the WR position not really mattering........... I would agree if Romo or a passer of his qaulity was behind center. We've seen Romo make guys like Miles Austin and Laurent Robinson look like pro bowlers. Dak has not proven to be in that category. You can chalk up his rookie season to NFL defenses having no film on him since he basically played with an identical wr core in 2016 and 2017. The OL was bad at one spot last year which was back-up tackle and it killed the offense. But you can't have all-pros at every spot.
Yeah, I'd disagree completely that talent doesn't matter anywhere. All I'm saying is you don't need a top 10 #1 WR to have a good and effective receiving corps. IMO, an effective receiving corps has route runners who can create separation and some deep threat ability.

Can always tell the fake fans on this site - it's never that "Dak needs to improve/has accuracy issues, etc." but "Dak sucks".
It's never "the receiving corps needs somebody to step up/who's going to be the no. 1 guy/who's going to provide a deep threat, etc." but "bottom 5 receiving corps"
It's never "the defense doesn't get enough turnovers/isn't tough enough/needs a better pass rush, etc" but "worst defense in the league".

And on and on.

But no way to keep them out, I just ignore their comments...

Society has become this way... not just a Cowboys Fan Board.
"Feel good" stories are considered soft and weak. Encouragment and solutions!?! Forgetaboutit.
Social media allows any ham-n-egger to be an absolute jerk to a total stranger they will never meet.

You're the one with the attitude problem. Because we "signed up in january from that other forum," you think you can just denigrate our opinions based solely on that...

here's a clue. You're wrong. Most of us were on the OFFICIAL BOARD for years before it shut down because skeletor is an idiot. Years of quality contributions just treated like trash because skeletor is an idiot.

You have the attitude problem. You adjust it.

What does Mike Shanahan have to do with this? He ran a message board? I'm lost.

We easily have a bottom five receiving core in the league at the moment. I will say, while Dak has been good he has been overrated, I think by half the fan base that for some reason had a reason to target and bash on Romo were quick to come to the Dak love. Terrance Williams is a no 4 receiver on most teams, Hurns can be an adequate two, and Beasley only fills certain route tree like Bryant, oh the biggest concern we have no number 1 and Witten is adequate at best at TE at his age.
Here we go. Another bash “any Cowboys player or employee” thread.

You mean to tell me you've never heard anyone call Mike Shanahan skeletor before!?! Ever!?!

He was a head coach, by the way... has a son coaching in SF now.

naw. I've always called Jerry Skeletor or the Crypt Keeper.

Doug Baldwin, he is a real number one receiver while I don't like Williams, you can't compare the two. If anything Baldwin is one of the most underrated receivers in the league.
