And that will disappear quickly.
And we only have 20 players that likely make the roster signed through 2020, so that 30 figure you gave out is pretty useless.

Those 20 players include:
Tyron, Fred, Martin and Williams. No La'el or any depth OL.
White, no Dak or Rush.
Crawford, Taco, and Armstrong. No Lawrence, Irving, Collins, or any of our nice depth pieces.
No Hurns
Bo is the only RB.
you forgot the next two drafts .....that is ten more cheap players chachi

But spending Cap Space is the point......signing good players

It isn't a tax return.......we should try to spend up to the cap every year

Buying championships is allowed......ask DEN

He's averaging 3 sacks a season over 5 years of play. And the last two years he's mainly played DE rushing the passer. Those are way below average numbers for starters.

Yeah, let's extend him another 5 years for 45 million...

And please, dont put Calalis Campbell and Crawford in a same group. That just sounds silly. He had 14.5 sacks last year alone. 2 shy of Crawforda 16.5 in his career.
Agree 100%

Campbell is up there with Lawrence, Graham, Cam Jordan for best do-it-all DEs who are elite at everything

Tyrone Crawford is right there with Derek Wolfe. Maybe. Still think DEN should have picked Malik Jackson instead, but whatever.

Lies by omission are just as bad

You are painting a false narrative on purpose to bolster your argument

He had 3 years that his cap hit didn't total 8m ......so to complain about one year at 10m when he played every game at multiple positions and got steady pressure is disingenuous at best

How about the fact that you continue to say the cap is going to rise each year from now but do not mention that the cost of players will also rise in effect. It will not cost the same to sign a player of high caliber today, compared to 4 seasons from now.

I see that only applies to others and not yourself.

Again, very low class of you.

Zack Martin officially signed his seven-year, $93.41 million contract on Thursday. The deal includes a $20 million signing bonus and he is guaranteed $40 million for injury. Here is the breakdown: 2018 base salary - $2 million; 2019 - $10 million; 2020 - $11 million; 2021 - $11 million; 2022 - $11.841 million, 2023 - $13.5 million; 2024 - $13 million ($1 million roster bonus).

my guess on the numbers......7/93.34m .............40m gtd........20m signing bonus

Year...........Base..........Prorate.............Cap Hit................Dead Money
2018...........2.34m...........4m..................6.3m.....................40m
2019...........1m*...............6m..................7m........................36m.............(restructured-was 11m)*
2020............9m...............6m..................15m......................29m
2021...........11m..............6m..................17m......................14m
2022...........14m..............6m...................20m......................8m
2023...........13m..............2m...................15m.......................2m
2024...........13m......................................13m............................

it is essentially a 3 year deal for 42.34m with 4 Team Options that are not guaranteed

After 2020 he will be owed 4/51m which is very reasonable and he will probably see the whole deal

I was pretty close

Full Cap schedule as follows:

Year...........Base.......Bonus..........Cap
2018...........2M............4M...........6M
2019..........10M..........4M..........14M
2020..........11M..........4M..........15M
2021.........11M...........4M..........15M
2022.......11.841M......4M.........15.841M
2023........13.5M..........0...........13.5M
2024.........13M...........1M...........14M

Are you calling me a fool since I would NOT CHOOSE Martin over Zeke?
If that's how you interpret it and the shoe fits.

Why in the world would anyone choose Zeke over Martin? Lol. That's one of the more ridiculous things I've read. Thank god you're not in charge.

Lol no you weren't

You were off by 7 million cap hit in 2018

And those cap hits are nearly evenly distributed as I was arguing for all along. We dont need a 20 million cap hit for a guard in 2022.

I rest my case.

Well, there are so many excellent DTs in the upcoming draft it would be almost criminal to not take one. Unless of course we are picking 32nd and all the 1st round caliber ones are taken.

Yes, that'd be good if we're drafting that late. Otherwise, we really should draft one of those chaps. We really do need a bit more there. If Marinelli is indeed retiring after this season, I do hope that Richard will change that bit of our defense and request a proper 1 tech.

Thanks for leaving Canada out of that World Cup comment. I am absolutely thrilled we will be hosting 10 games.

Oh come on, dear boy. I was simply talking about how fun it'd be to see England play at Jerry's Stadium. I might actually have to make the trip to the stadium to watch England play.

and you weren't in the same zip code

6m cap hit in 2018 and 7m cap hit in 2019 vs your dumb idea of 18m and 16m

His original projection had an 11M base salary and 15M cap for 2019, almost right on the actual. He's "7M off" because he has projected a restructure of 10M in base salary (down to 1M) to a signing bonus prorated over 5 years, saving 8M against the cap in 2019 with 2M in bonus proration in each of the following 4 years. That's still an option the Cowboys have which they've taken with both Tyron and Frederick. No, his mock deal is pretty spot on.

England better live up to expectations. I know Italy didnt qualify, but damn does England disappoint or what? Its bad.

Well, I don't think there's a lot of expectations for England this year after the last World Cup. I just hope that they can manage to get out of the Group, this time around. That alone would be an improvement. I'd be thrilled if they get further than that, though.

Agree, pretty darn close.

You get bonus points for just taking the time to attempt to break it down before it was announced.

as you might assume, I am really pleased with the breakdown

It is very fair and in couple to 3 years will look like Tron's and TFred's deals........bargains
