Extension values to $14M AAV. Total contract terms are 7 years, $93.341M for an AAV of $13.3M.
That's great. Now sign it!
I thought this was already done? That "finally agreed today" and that's stamped in the last hour today would be different.
Well, he should play for 6 more years so he should see an average of 14M a year. Like to see how they've distributed the guaranteed part, which is all that really counts cap wise now.
Looks like just signed it?
I still want to see how the extension changes his 2018 cap #, which was $9,341,000.
Yes, I read yesterday that Martin felt negotiations were close enough to completion so he showed up for work.
My guess is it drops to $4,790,000. $4M proration of a $20M signing bonus with a league minimum salary.
My heart is so happy that our Oline is happy.
Get it Willie!
Great job by both sides. Gettin it done!!! Rejoice Cowboy fans.
It’s signed. Glad it’s done. They also gave him Jason Witten locker. Talk about leadership role.
40 mill guaranteed over 6 years should lower his cap number to arrrouunndddd 6 to 7 mil per year.
Best player on the team (every down player, reliable, team leader, young player in his prime, can play multiple positions on the offensive line, no injury history/concerns unlike Sean Lee, & no off the field concerns unlike Zeke).
Oh, by the way he is the best player in entire NFL at his position.
Good deal for all parties.
Where is the love button when you need it?
Todd Archer reported we gained $3M in cap space. So It'd be in the $6.3M area
Way too much money for a Guard. Idc what anyone says
Only 700k more per year than Norwell.
He grabs 10 mill more in guarantees - but that really isn't a thing because that part is likely about guaranteeing his 2018 salary
40m only cover the first 3 years at 13.3m a year
the last 4 years will be like team options after the guarantees are gone
Earl Thomas time.
