Excellent thread @CyberB0b. Makes me think. hmm. Which five movies do I hold as both great and are must-sees for me on practically every opportunity?

Episode IV: Star Wars: A New Hope
The Ten Commandments
Aliens
Kill Bill
(Both volumes are technically two parts but Volume 1 is my most favorite of the two films)
Raiders of the Lost Ark

So many honorable mentions...

"Yutes, did you say yutes"? Classic line and delivered by a real pro. His facial expressions in that cracked me up every time I saw them.

So many great lines in that movie.. "Mrs. Reilly and only Mrs. Reilly"

I'm weird.

2nd tier old-timey sci/fi-horror films like:
The Day the Earth Stood Still
Them
Creature from the Black Lagoon (any)

Comedies like:
The Ghost and Mr Chicken
Harold and Maude
The Pink Panther

Uplifting Movies Like
Its a Wonderful Life
Phenomenon
The Green Mile

I want to like the main protagonist. If I do, I'll easily "suspend my disbelief" and overlook other problems in the film.

Planes, Trains and Automobiles (Why are you holding my hand? Where's your other hand? Between two pillows. Those aren't pillows! AAAAAHHHH!!!)
Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back (Her: I love you. Him: I know.)
A League of Their Own (Boy, that was some good peeing.)
John Carter (Virginia)
The Princess Bride (Inconceivable!)

True story: My high school English teacher from Michigan was one of the producers of A League of Their Own. I went off to college and didn't know until some time later he'd made a career change. It may have been his first or at least one of his earliest endeavors as a producer. He's doing Movie of the Week type work these days.

Tropic Thunder
Slingblade
The Three Amigos
The Departed
Good Will Hunting. As a therapist, this movie resonates with me.

I'm positive there are two or three that could rotate in over some of these that have escaped me right now.

Some solid movies there.

I would have loved to include...

Forbidden Planet
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory
Young Frankenstein

On my list but couldn't muscle them into the top 5.

Everything. The plot, the score, the acting, the metaphors and imagery. All top notch.

Yeah, I love Chris Nolan and his movies always seem to have some good depth to them. There were some really good underlying tones in Interstellar.

Also, I have a technical question. Do movie trilogy's or series count as one movie or do they have to count as one spot in the top 5. For example, I love the Back to the Future trilogy. Can I count that as "one movie" or would all 3 take up 3 spots?
