Would you add Desean Jackson?

Oh so we can't have a few older players on this team? The "we can't have Player Y because he's too old and we are a young team" is as dumb an argument as the inevitable "he's a progress stopper" argument we see every year too.

Here's what we would need him for if the price was right - he'd immediately be one of our best WRs on a team that is desperate for WR help. People are significantly overrating how good our WR corps is.
I actually haven't seen anyone doing that. Or maybe I just don't pay attention to ones who do that.

Absolutely, however, you want to add veterans who are a good presence for the youngsters. Desean is not. So, I'm not using the argument you're suggesting.

If he's still walking around at week 3 and our WR's have crapped out it's a consideration. Right now as things stand though it has to be a no

About 3 years ago, was unsure why we didn't want him then since we never could cover him whenever we played him and we had no speed or deep threat for nearly a decade.
Oh you say because we want RKGs and not boneheads? How has that worked out?
Half our team has had a suspension or arrest in the past few.
However, now I wouldn't be interested in DJax, getting old and we have some speed and fresh blood at WR so pass.

Maybe he’s referring to people like me. I’ve said more than once that I’m excited about the possibilities. They’re young, hungry and “under the radar”. It’s been said that they’re good route runners, who know how to get seperation and possess good hands. We also have a new WR coach, a new OL coach, a new QB coach, and an improved OL. The sky’s the limit!

You actually complaining about 1/2 of 1% of the salary cap?

Just pointing out it would again be another poor FA decision by this franchise.

I honestly never understood why they even went after Thompson. He's an average, at best, WR.

And even in being young and hungry, the notion that you can't add veteran players to the mix is kind of silly IMO. In fact, it's probably smart to sprinkle in some vets here and there on young teams.

It's all moot anyway unless Tampa cuts Jackson. There is no way the Cowboys are trading for a guy scheduled to make $11MM this year and $10MM next year.

Not that crowded to me. I don't see anyone at receiver who's job is untouchable.

The warm body theory is alive and well at WR.

Essentially, people assume we have depth and a crowded WR position because we simply have a bunch of dudes on our current roster who are WRs.

When in reality, we likely have some real talent issues at WR and very little "quality" depth at the position.

Reality according to you. I prefer to let ‘em play a few before I pass judgement.

They have played. Beasley is a nice slot WR. Hurns is a good/quality mid-level WR. Austin has largely been a bust but could have some value here in certain situations. Thompson is what he is.......... a 29 year old who has never caught more than 38 balls in a season. And we all know what Williams is.

The only real unknowns at this point are Gallup and Wilson. Wilson is probably fighting for that 6th WR spot with Thompson, Lenoir and Brown. Gallup is the one real "unknown" at this point that could make this WR better than it likely is on paper.

Yeah I mean I'd love to sit here and say Gallup is gonna be a beast and Hurns is going to be what he was two years ago and Beasley is going back to what he was two years ago...but that's a wish and a hope. As of now we only have Hurns and Beasley and I'm not even sure of what they may bring.

Gallup looks like a good prospect, but he's still a 3rd round prospect. That means until he shows otherwise, the odds say that he's got a 75% chance of being a bust.
