Why listen? I am serious, why listen to the sales pitch every season and all the spinning that's done? You know that's what they're going to do.
Everyone here has a choice to turn that off or continue to listen to it and judging by the reactions here, get all pissed off over again. I made the decision that if I was going to remain a fan, I would have to shut off exposure to Booger. But I would have to accept what is and not changing any time soon. My team is owned and operated by these people but that doesn't mean I have to pay attention to them.
I tried watching that All or Nothing and what I got was nothing. That family is more involved than I thought before so I am better off just trying to stay ignorant to it.
It does not matter what they say at all. I start the season as optimistic as I can be and none of their crap sticks to me and they can't sell me because they don't know anymore than I do. This season will be what it's going to be regardless of what they say and I hope it is a good season every season because I am investing my time.
But what has happened to me over time is a passion dissolve. I just watch the game not really expecting anything and when something good happens, I don't really react any more than I do when something bad happens. I honestly do not know if that is the effect of maturing or if these years of futility has just put me in that black hole of expectations.
I do not depend on the Joneses or Garrett to get my hopes up, that job is up to me. Look at the team objectively, factor in luck, and go from there. I also do not depend on them to keep my fanhood, that is also up to me.
This thread is all about "put up or shut up" and that is just not going to happen, he is never going to shut up and he's got #1 son in the wings waiting to take up where Booger leaves off.
I do not fault the coaching staff for selling, that is their job this time of the season. Every team's goal is the SB right now.
