If you think Dak is terrible chime in

I'd like some honest responses, because I'm hoping this can put to rest all these deflective posts that people seem to quickly fall back on stating "other people tend to think Dak is terrible and think he's the only person to blame..." Anytime any criticism is thrown at Dak a counter is made because I'm told it's more for the Dak haters.

Obviously this doesn't speak for all Cowboys fans, but it'll give us a good view on the percentages here. I don't see an option anywhere to make a poll, but I'm going to assume few responses admitting so means that we barely have any haters. If so does this mean the deflectors are just stirring the pot any time they bring up "Dak haters"?

Over half the Cowboy fanbase thought Romo was terrible, these threads are going to do you no good. Half the fans only care when we are relevant though.

That may be true, but I've yet to see all these Dak hater comments like I keep being told there are, and it sounds like they're all over the place from the deflectors comments.
 
Terrible? No. Just not a franchise guy. I think he's an ideal backup (realistically speaking - obviously you'd love to have a top 5 guy backing up another top 5 guy).
 
so far I think it's safe to say there are minimal haters, remember that Dak deflectors!

Horrible?!?!? Romo played on some historically bad Cowboys teams with horrible offensive lines, little or no running game, and mediocre defenses. You're only as good as your situation. Dak had the best of situations his first year, tailed off last year with some injuries and the Zeke suspension. Dak is a great guy and a great teammate, but talent-wise, he is a 4th round pick as advertised. If Romo had not been hurt in pre-season 2 years ago, Dak would still be holding a clipboard and wearing a baseball cap
 
No Dak is anything but terrible . Whats terrible is a veteran QB that we bank our whole season on coming back from injury running in a meaningless preseason game and getting hurt again .

Whats terrible is Dak played an incredible record setting season and we didn't have the coaching to complete the mission.

No Dak was not a finished product in yr 2 and could not overcome the injuries suspensions and poor coaching he was faced with along with a #1 receiver who heard footsteps and couldn't separate or catch .

This dosent make him terrible it should have been expected and part of his maturation process

This year with a healthy team we should see his progress as he has been diligently working in the off season to improve and we have added young hungry players with SPEED to the roster .

I did not say that Dak was terrible, I was replying to another thread that said that more than half of the fan base thought that Romo was terrible. Although, I did elude to the fact that Romo was the better option once he was healthy. Romo had one year with a balanced offense and Demarco Murray ran for 1800+ yards(although he had a critical fumble against Green Bay that was the turning point of that game in the playoffs, and probably led to his release in the offseason.) They started out the next year 2-0 before the injury problems started for Romo. Last year, Tony should have taken over as soon as he was healthy. Dak did a great job while he was gone, but lackluster efforts later in the season should have told the coaching staff that Tony was the one to be playing approaching the playoffs. Opposing defenses get film on a guy and make necessary adjustments. If you force Dak to stay in the pocket, it is very difficult for him to beat you because he does not throw a very accurate ball downfield and he makes very questionable decisions when pressured. Plus you don't have an experienced QB(making 20 million) sit on the bench when his team has home field advantage throughout the playoffs. Those opportunities don't come along very often

Romo was done. Opposing defenses knew how to handle him too. Just hit him and he'll go down for the count. Tired of wasting season after season on a QB that couldn't stay healthy. No matter what happens with Dak, it was time to move on from Romo.

Sorry I wasn't aiming my post at you just fans in general that think Dak is terrible .

Normally I would agree with you and say you should put the experienced QB in for the playoffs but Tony could not be trusted to take normal NFL hits any longer . Also Tony refused to alter his game like many older QBs have had to do and just THROW THE BALL AWAY to protect himself .

The guy refused to give up on plays . Many times it made a highlight reel but in the end it ended his career .
Dak may not have as accurate a long ball as Tony but he could move the chains with his legs when necessary something Tony could never do on his best days . Dak was a threat every defense had to account for because he could pass or run for touchdowns . Nobody feared Tony running the ball in .

Where are we no oh questionable decisions ? Dak placed a high value on ball security . Tony was like the cow that gave a full bucket of milk then kicked it over . His career was marked with highlight films ending in questionable decisions . LOL

At the end of the day it came down to availability Dak had it Tony didn't . Whatever perceived advantages that were gained by Tonys experience were negated because his style of play left him unavailable

It is true that Tony did not have the mobility he once did(he spent the first 6 years of his career running for his life).. And by the way, Dak would never have gone 13 and 3 without Zeke. We never got a chance to see Tony play with Zeke, who is unquestionably better than Murray. We lost to Green Bay(who had a horrible defense) in the playoffs after being down 21-3. That would not have happened if Tony had played

No it might well have been a severe beat down if Tony played we have seen them before . Tony had some great games for us granted but he had some real heart breakers and there certainly were no guarantees with him so its impossible to say what would have happened if he played .

We do know how Dak played 103 QBR higher than Rodgers 3TDs 300+ yrds ran in for 2 pt conversion . came back tied game twice . As you said GB had a bad defense but ours was worse along with coaching that couldn't get players substituted and a crazy penalty on Butler that killed a drive that would have ended in points .
