Hill: Irving is not reporting to start of training camp

Just knew some kind of news would put a damper on things.
Hopefully it is some kind of reason the team has excused him for. Maybe it’s only a short term thing. But at this point I am doubting it very much.
 
I don't care if he comes off his suspension week 5 and gets 12 sacks by season's end...DO NOT RESIGN THIS GUY!

If I'm a fringe player in a contract season, I'm doing absolutely everything I can to do well. So I'ma act like a choir boy and I'ma be in the best shape of my life.
 
So why is this reporter saying if the issue was not resolved in the past 5 weeks, it is most likely he will miss the entire TC too.
Pretty crappy assumption for a jack reporter I guess.

Jist wait and see how it plays out. It not counting on the guy. Maybe the knuckle head part is saying if he can’t play the 1st 4 games, why even practice until he is eligible to play. I can just see that type of thinking.

Oh, well, maybe someone steps up and surprises enough for them just to move on.

Yes that is the logical thinking, but Irving has shown he does not think logical. :muttley:
 
Especially if I'm suspended for 1/4 of the season then I need to work that much harder to contribute during the 12 games I will be available for. Irving is striking me as another Martellus Bennett. Talented but doesn't care enough to ever become a consistent contributor in the NFL.
 
How many chances does this guy think he deserves , much less is going to continue to get ?

At some point it's either going to click in or you're going to remain a clueless wonder............................He's beginning to look like the latter..........

Everybody needs to take a breath. This may be a bad thing; but at this point the team apparently is aware of, and agreed to, his absence.

Personally, I'm more concerned about his "ab-sense" than his absence.
 
Josh Gordon just did the same thing. Irving now in his category. Hopefully, he gets himself straight enough to play in October. And hangs on through January. And then be gone forever.

If the team is onboard, I'll take it. We knew the guy had issues. Sounded like he was cleaning them up.

I wonder if he gets that monster contract his play might suggest he deserves from Dallas, anyway.

Or is it too soon to say?
