Kurt Warner on Dak

It was great to see Warner gush over Dak on NFLN yesterday. Reaffirmed what I have always thought about Dak. He's going to really shine this year.

Dak is almost the perfect guy to be our fifth franchise QB, the only thing that would make it better would be a an All Pro type season this year to elevate a questionable offense.

As long as the offense scores and Prescott can win in the 4th quarter, I'm a happy camper of prospects.

Exactly. Just like the Romo hate early on, that he brought on himself btw. Fans get defensive about the qb position. But Dak the qb has people nervous for a reason.

The funny thing is no one would be the least bit nervous about Dak had his career followed the track of Romo and Warner, neither of whom took a live snap their first 3 years. But NFL people gave them time to grow and were rewarded for their patience..

Dak is held to high standard for having the audacity, I mean ability, to play as a 4th round rookie and people are ready to write him off in year three (if they haven't already).

For starters, he already is the franchise quarterback...and Tony Romo then retired. As to proving his value, he already has quite a bit of positive stats and recognition as well. To be a top shelf leader, the team has to fully support that role.

He is not a Rodgers or Brady...and everything evolving around him solely. He has a running game, a good one, and the make up of this team is around toting the pigskin and timing pass routes.

We shall see how the team evolves, but this fan isn't transferring doubt to the shoulders of Prescott. Sorry, he or Jerry, neither one, are my whipping boys for Monday Morning Quarterback's Club.

In your dreams he might be the franchise QB but in reality myself and a whole lot of other Cowboy fans are not sold on Dak and being we're America's team why shouldn't demand a Brady or Rodgers at the helm?
We won 5 super bowls rings with top Quality QB and if you think our Cowboys will become the Cleveland Browns for Dak Prescott your in for a major correction there!!!!!!! Dak simply doesn't have what it takes talent wise to have the most coveted position in the NFL under his supervision.....he has this last opportunity come kick-off time to prove to all of us including yourself that he is indeed a Franchise QB who can move the offense with his arm not just driving the bus for Zeke....

PappyDog, A-Rod and T-Shady are probably both top 10 all-time passers, if not top 5. We've already had Romo, Aikman, White and Staubach.

Lol at the exclamation marks. You're such a triggered Romo fanboy.

You are a broken record.

To me so far Dak at his best is a bus driver. You have to build an almost perfect system around him to shine. He will never be the elite quarterback some think he is.
I want the best QB for this team.Someone you can build around him.Someone when part of the team start to struggle he can be the difference maker to offset the drop.
My loyalty is to the team not to the player. Le's see what this year about.

A consistent deep ball would help him immensely. Warner mentioned finding the routes Dak is most comfortable throwing, and based on Sturm’s articles, those seem to be sideline routes ten yards downfield. Given the Cowboys’ strong running game, if Dak can hit the deep ball regularly and consistently, the sideline routes should open right up.

If Dak doesn't achieve accuracy, I think he will have to do more running to be the quarterback he was his first year and that will lead to him having to take hits. Running the ball is what made Dak a great quarterback to begin with.

How anyone can bash on a 2 year QB is beyond me. You would think fans would be a little more thankful to find a QB who's 22 and 10.
Actually it became easy to bash him last year. And I went on record as such.

We, as fans, got somewhat spoiled by his stellar rookie preseason which in turn carried over into the regular season.

Last year there was plenty of blame to go around. Being the Dallas Cowboys quarterback will always be at the top when things go sideways.

Fans are not hating on Dak Prescott the man, they are hating on Dak Prescott the QB...Big difference. I think the kid is totally fantastic as a human being, I am not convinced that he has the tools necessary to be a totally fantastic QB...This year should tell all who was wrong and who was right.

I said nothing about hating on the man. They think Dak isnt a good QB. Thats not only completely laughable, but its pathetic. IF you are a Cowboys fan you would be jumping for joy this kid landed in our lap in the 4th round.

And no the Romo cry babies have already been proven WRONG about Dak. Now they want to complain that he isn't Tom Brady. They are as bad as the trolls that hated on Romo. I defended Romo and Ill do the same for Dak. Until I see something that tells me different. It couldnt be more obvious that Dak is a total and complete stud. Some fans just like certain types of QB's. So they complain. Just too blind and too embarrassed to see that this kid is special. Either way, I dont care. They will all be laughed at soon enough.

If you didnt understand that a lot of Daks ability to be special depended on Zeke and the Oline, they just didnt understand football. And not knowing that taking those two things away would cause him to struggle is the other side of that lack of knowledge.

These same cry babies also tended to be Dez fans. Those that couldnt see the limitations of Dez and his losing a step. Proven wrong once again by his unemployment. The cry babies were wrong about everything. They just havent gotten over the sting yet.

Romo or Dez freak or the offline had injuries or Wr cant get separation ....God you Dak-bots simply are losing reasonable ground to defend what we all saw last season and are now seeing it again at practice....DAK Prescott is a below average QB.....now deal with reality or live your Dak dream .....trust me the FO won't keep that dream going much longer if Dak cant move the ball....

I already know he will never be a Tom Brady or Rogers type thrower. But he doesnt need to be. In the offense we have going now, Dak is the PERFECT QB. And he will only get better.

Ayyy, you must have missed his five 4th quarter comebacks in 2016 (making him the 12th highest all time) and his 93 passer rating in the 4th quarter.

There are people who hate, then there are people who point out legitimate flaws and concerns and people conflate that with hate. Seriously, for every hater there is just as many rose-colored observers of Dak. We need to start working on that grey area. Dak is not bad, Dak is not great. Dak is good for where he was drafted and his ability to limit turnovers. He does have a lot to work on (especially if we're thinking about making him our franchise QB), hopefully this off-season he put in that work.

I hope he exceeds all expectations and lights the world on fire. Not gonna hold my breath though.

Dak has been beyond any expectations for a 2 year QB. The history books can tell you that, just look it up. Now does that mean he is a finished product? Definitely not. But if you understand QB's and young QB's, then you wouldnt think he was supposed to be.

It took Romo 7 to 8 years to become the leader that Dak is from day #1. And I dont even know if Romo even got there. Now Romo was a better passer then Dak from day 1 and I dont know if Dak will ever get there. Two completely different QB's. In my opinion, Romo is the kind of QB that puts up stats and Dak is the type of QB that will win championships. But both need the right coaches and players around them. Given a complete team, I would take Dak all day every day over Romo. Given a lessor team, I would take Romo and his ability to make things happen out of nothing.

Although it would have been nice to see what Romo could have done the last couple years of his career if it werent for the back and the bad defenses and coaching he had.
