Kurt Warner on Dak

To me so far Dak at his best is a bus driver. You have to build an almost perfect system around him to shine. He will never be the elite quarterback some think he is.
I want the best QB for this team.Someone you can build around him.Someone when part of the team start to struggle he can be the difference maker to offset the drop.
My loyalty is to the team not to the player. Le's see what this year about.

The QB that you defined... there are about 2-3 in the league at any given time. And teams burn too 10 picks on QB’s all the time that never live up to that billing.

I said nothing about hating on the man. They think Dak isnt a good QB. Thats not only completely laughable, but its pathetic. IF you are a Cowboys fan you would be jumping for joy this kid landed in our lap in the 4th round.

And no the Romo cry babies have already been proven WRONG about Dak. Now they want to complain that he isn't Tom Brady. They are as bad as the trolls that hated on Romo. I defended Romo and Ill do the same for Dak. Until I see something that tells me different. It couldnt be more obvious that Dak is a total and complete stud. Some fans just like certain types of QB's. So they complain. Just too blind and too embarrassed to see that this kid is special. Either way, I dont care. They will all be laughed at soon enough.
I think Dak will obviously be your guy no matter what. Peace...

nah i dont
he said to clean house
you said you dont have to clean the foundation (i think)
my point is Jerry will always control the foundation as long as his health allows
Right. If our dysfunctional organization couldn’t surround Romo what makes us think they can Dak?

Dak had an incredible season in 2016 and wasn’t enough.

Oh the sensitivity... Warner said he's the best ever.. lmao.... who you guys trying to convince? yourself or the posters who sees flaws... has dak ever put touch on a pass, or does he try to strong arm his passes... even rush has touch..i haven't see enough of white to say one way or another.

Dak is almost the perfect guy to be our fifth franchise QB, the only thing that would make it better would be a an All Pro type season this year to elevate a questionable offense.

Arguably he would be our 6th franchise QB. You left one (not sure which) of Meredith, White and Romo off your list ( I assume nobody would omit Roger or Aikman). They all have comparable claims to being franchise QBs. (They all have holes in their qualifications too.)

im worried about dak. eliminating all these other media people outside of dallas. dave helman has said dak is good with short/intermediate. and not so much with deep stuff. if true ... we are in trouble. same of the old crap dak checking it down bc he won’t go deep. the only difference is that he may have more success bc his wrs seem to be able to separate/run better routes this yr. (hurns, thompson, gallup, tavon)

We all know that's the most important thing on a message board - which group of fans who know next to nothing guess right and which group of fans who know next to nothing guess wrong. :muttley:
Don’t you know that these posters are experts and the Cowboys would be 16-0 every year if they ran the franchise?

In your dreams he might be the franchise QB but in reality myself and a whole lot of other Cowboy fans are not sold on Dak and being we're America's team why shouldn't demand a Brady or Rodgers at the helm?
We won 5 super bowls rings with top Quality QB and if you think our Cowboys will become the Cleveland Browns for Dak Prescott your in for a major correction there!!!!!!! Dak simply doesn't have what it takes talent wise to have the most coveted position in the NFL under his supervision.....he has this last opportunity come kick-off time to prove to all of us including yourself that he is indeed a Franchise QB who can move the offense with his arm not just driving the bus for Zeke....

Here is some factual information on Dak's spatial passing accuracy. Magenta color is low completion percentage. I will let everybody draw their own conclusions on the intermediate deep and deep (20+ yards) passes!!

Prescott’s performances against three styles of defense
The charts below show Prescott’s performance against the three defenses primarily faced.

The data below is highlighted with five colors.

Light blue refers to completion percentages of: 70 or more in the short to intermediate areas or 50 or more in the deep part of the field.

Green refers to touchdowns thrown.

Yellow emphasizes explosive plays that gained 20 yards or more.

Red shows interceptions.

Magenta refers to completion percentages: below 50 in the short to intermediate areas, or below 25 in the deep part of the field.

Notice how Prescott achieved a superb completion percentage in 14 of 20 areas against single-high, zone coverage. Most quarterbacks should be at their most accurate in the “short” to “intermediate short” depths from the line of scrimmage. But to reach the 70’s to high 80’s in all parts of the field within 10 yards is outstanding work.

There were only one-third as many high-completion areas against single-high matchup as there were versus single-high zone.

However, almost twice as many touchdowns were thrown against man coverage than zone, despite criticisms of the offense being too predictable and not scheming receivers open frequently.

Over the course of Prescott’s career, he’s shown much greater accuracy against single-high zone but has been more prolific, throwing for more touchdowns and explosive plays, when facing matchup-type defenses.

This can partly be explained by the fact that zone defenses offer natural holes in their coverage that can be exploited when the quarterback and receiver are on the same page and executing their assignments sufficiently.

Or perhaps there’s another reason the soon-to-be third-year starter appears even more comfortable facing off against Cover 3 than Cover 1?

Look at Prescott’s performance when playing against two-high zone defenses.

Oddly, the Mississippi State alum had below a 50 completion percentage going to the right sideline, intermediate deep section, but still threw for four touchdowns and three explosive plays.

Personally I never understood the hatred for this kid. Not like he injured Romo. He was a rookie and he had no say in any of the decisions made to not play Romo and stick with Dak.
