When Bella Karolyi carried Kerri Strug out to the platform in the march to get their gold medal in the 1996 Olympics.

Oh, I cried when Ali lit the torch too.

Mostly Dallas superbowl wins(and losses) which I haven't experienced in awhile

Aside from that, I will get watery eyes on occasion during each Olympics due to some backstory, triumph or when the Anthem is played on the podium after a big win.

Astros winning their first world series last year!!!!! I'm still in disbelief.

I was in a hospital room visiting my wife. I started yelling and broke down crying while talking to my dad on the phone. The doctor and nurses came running in thinking she died or something.

They were like, "What's going on in here?"

"The Astros just won the world series."

"Well, keep it down. Some people are trying to sleep."

"Sorry."

Not technically a sporting 'event' but it was a very sad day when Reggie Lewis passed away. (Longtime Celtic fan!) I was driving home from my own basketball game, listening to the local sports talk show and one of the announcers broke down as he announced that Reggie had passed. Remember the day as if it was yesterday.

What are you a lifelong bandwagoner? How does one come to root for a Boston team and the Cowboys......just wondering

It still counts in my book. I shouldn't have used the word "event" Good post.
