Here's one of the Yankees fans standing by Boston after the Boston Marathon Bombing. I don't root for either team but even this had me chocked up because they hate each other so much.

Good Idea. The house always wins in the end if you play the machines or table games..

The only place a casino doesn't have a mathematical advantage is with sports betting.

Myself? I just put $2 down on the favorite to "show" in a horse race in a race and sports book.

I might only win a couple of bucks but that is just used as a tip for the cocktail waitress bringing me free drinks all day.

Do that on every horse race an you got to drink for free, keep tipped the waitress so she keeps coming around and maybe even made a few few $$$.

Just kickin down some more Vegas knowledge.
Betting the fav to show mostly pays more in cents. Might get 2.50 back, which means a .50 cent profit. I've seen many that pays like 2.20 or 2.10.

You're correct. But when you have 6 different tracks you can bet in a race and sports book in Vegas at the same time, It adds up. I worked at Jerry's Nugget Race and Sports book for 5 years. Take all those 2.20 and 2.10 wins you get back and keep tipping the waitress from those 6 tracks you just bet and keep getting free drinks all day about every 20 minutes

Even if you lose, you've only paid $2 for the the drink and a $1 tip for the waitress.

That or you can go to the bar and pay $10 for just a well drink.

What are you a lifelong bandwagoner? How does one come to root for a Boston team and the Cowboys......just wondering

This stuff cracks me up. Not everyone is born into/near a big city, married (by birth, presumably) to all of its sports teams.

Besides, what bandwagon have the Cowboys been driving the last 2 decades? A bandwagoner would've bailed for the Patriots years ago.

That's easy for me ... 1998 Nagano Olympics, Canada losing to the Czech Republic in ice hockey and again 4 years later when I finally to got witness a dream of mine, seeing Canada win Olympic Ice Hockey Gold ... and since then we've managed to win 2 more.

That's how I used to bet the horses all the time. But I always bet the trotters, you know, the ones that pull the jockey, they were more consistent. I would put $20 on the favorite to show and the payouts were anywhere from 2.20 to 3.20, rarely higher. Payouts weren't that high, but it always paid for my drinks all night. I rarely walked out with less than I came in with.
