Cowboys being overlooked?

Did Garrett cause Dez to drop the ball against Green Bay? Did Garrett cause our secondary to get burned on an amazing pass by one of the best QB’s to ever play the game? There’s plenty of blame to go around but JG has put this team in position to win so saying he has single handily held this team back isn’t even close.

yes he did and the evidence will tell you straight to your face. Did said player do this did said player do that? THe SB and the game doesnt care what you do at the end of hte day. Garrett sucks agianst GB and has since he took over. the team didnt do that, garrett did, whine all you want, the evidence backs me. Garrett knew he was up against better and assumed his regular play would be suffice, wrong, GB has had his number and he couldnt out game them.

CB's are one of the strongest parts of the team.

Name a pro bowler? We have a lot of unproven guys who haven't made a mark in the league yet. To say its a strength is wishful thinking at this point.

It's hard to blame Garrett going up against Aaron Rodgers, but the games I have a problem with last season were the Rams and the Falcons. Garrett didn't make adjustments during those games, and he certainly contributed to the losses.

They have a a way better defense and play in the weak afc.

i wont argue that but my point is if you know you are against better, and some teams are going to be, you gotta adjust. Garrett has lacked that not the players.

There is reason to be optimistic. I am hopeful this defense will be the best D the Cowboys have put on the field in quite some time. Unproven? Sure. So was every great player until they weren't.

A lot of question marks for sure. Plenty of reason for optimism though.

and this could very well be the year it all comes together. im more optimisitc for this year but i can understand if the media down plays us. It would be like us hearing "The Browns are going to tear it up this year" yea right.

Idk, I mean playoffs wise you’re right. The cowboys have tied for the best record in the league one season and been the #1 seed in the NFC another season, for 2 out of the past 4 years.

To say they haven’t proven anything the last few years isn’t fair.

Yes, unfortunately they have proven they can’t win when it matters- the playoffs. Playoff wins is how respect is earned is this league. Regular season wins are nice because they get you in position to win in the playoffs. But playoff wins- that’s the gold standard.

I don’t give a rats hiney what this team has done until they go on a playoff win run. The freaking Jaguars have earned more respect than we have the last few years. If we as fans expect anyone other than fans like us to respect this team we’re all crazy. The NFL as Tony Romo said before he retired, “is a meritocracy”. Respect is earned and it doesn’t last very long.

I’m not surprised by anyone not respecting this team. If they win some playoff games this year, we will have respect in droves.

I don't know boys, but I have the feeling that the Cowboys are being vastly underrated. I just have a gut feeling that this defense might be pretty damn good and our offense will be sneaky good too.

Maybe its preseason optimism and naivete , how 'bout you ?

They are definitely being overlooked. All my buddies scattered around all say the same thing the national media is saying, no WR’s and suspect secondary. Both true, but the national media sees them once or twice during training camp only. Also, it takes more than talent to win in the NFL. It’s a very physical game. Players seeing other players giving their all rubs off on the whole team. That’s why team chemistry is up their in importance with talent. Garretts teams have shown to have good team chemistry. If this team can stay relatively healthy then they are going a looooong way this year.

this season is all about the qb play and the passing game zeke will be good in the running game and the defense will be better but if the passing game is not better than the last half of last season they wont score enough points to win the games against the better teams dak Prescott has to have big year for the cowboys to go far in the regular season and the playoffs

Sure, it’s Garretts fault Dez couldn’t hold on to the ball. Been hitting the bottle or does your anger cause you to type like that?

No one tech and I have zero faith in our safeties, if you want average or well below average sure, so 3 out of 11 27% of the defensive makeup makes me question this being a top tier defense, could they be slightly above defense sure, top ten I don't see.
