Another thing that sucks is as fans we hope every year that these players are going to overcome this lousy coaching and win in spite of him. I have no confidence whatsoever. I know we can win games, but I have no confidence we can against similar talent level opponents with good coaching.

The hope that our Oline and Zeke can impose themselves on teams or Romo can just put the entire thing on his shoulders.

Frederick is a huge loss. His loss effect's the entire line. That's the reality.

It just can not be an excuse for the coaches though if the wheels fall off.

They will have had a few weeks to prepare for this and 1 hole in the boat that isn't the QB shouldn't sink the boat.

If Dallas fails this year then Jason Garrett just can not escape because of this 1 injury.

We can not have a coach that makes his team so fragile that the whole thing falls apart with an injury.

It may be too soon to call it beast but defensively the front 7 and corners should be really good and Zeke should have a big year offensively.

I get that but there is nothing wrong with projecting what they could be with the current information available.

That is true, at times, I am one of those, lol.
Thing is if a fan doesnt like Garret, the last thing he wants to see is JG holding up a SB trophy, cause that means JG will
be here forever.
It is tough, we want Cowboys to win, but if they win then JG wins, Jerry wins etc.
So now I can go either way, I can enjoy it if they win, and also if they lose.
I always like seeing the jones boys all bummed out after a loss.
although 2015 was really hard to take, and JG was still here after that.

So that is the jist of it, like the team but not the coach or owners, so fans can have conflicts over that
which lead to the rants and the bashing.

Back in the 90's , I loved Jimmy, as HC, and the other coaches, and I didnt know or dislike jerry yet, so that was totally
different and the way it should be.

The season won't fall apart due to one injury. If it falls apart it will be a combination of things that we are already aware of. Things that upset people when discussed and causes the "hater" label and "doom and gloom" statements to be tossed around. Things like:

• Injuires WILL occur. We know Frederick will miss time, but other injuries will occur and our depth isn't very good. Tyron Smith and Lee are probable to miss some playing time based upon their history so if it happens it should not surprise anyone. There will be other injuries to players who don't necessarily have an injury history, too.
  
• We are weak at the safety position.
• We don't know what to expect out of our receiving corps. We don't really have a true #1 receiver so our passing attack is questionable.
• I personally love Dak, but there are legitimate concerns about the QB position. Yes, it is arguable but nobody can be certain if he is or is not a franchise QB at this point.

We know all of that already entering the season. Sure, we can have a miracle season if everything comes together, but you have to wonder how likely it is for that to occur. I think we are headed for another season around 8-8 because the team does have positives working in their favor too and the team won't totally fall apart. We're going to find out soon enough. The time for speculation is almost over and we get to see what this team is made up in less than a month.

As long as the organizational strategy is to pay top dollar for starters who we hope never get injured or have off field injuries because we spend little money on backups, I don't know how you hold coaches responsible for that.

I forgot about the WRs. Yes, they will probably talk about how there needs to be an adjustment period for Dak and the new WRs, blah, blah, blah.

It's quite clear Jerry has no intention of ever holding Garrett accountable for anything. Every offseason, it seems, he goes public talking about all the issues we had and he wants to know what they happened........... should have won more games in 2015 even with a backup QB, why games like Atlanta happened last year, how we have to be less predictable on offense.

And then every year, he does nothing.

O he and stephen, dont forget stevie, he is maybe more in control than many think.
They do something every year, they get rid of asst coaches, and hire new ones, hoping that with each new hire JG can be a winner.
They essentially did fire JG as OC , when they put callahan in as semi OC, then they hired linehan as OC, and now have supposedly
given him full OC control, and hired more asst coaches.
They also keep getting rid of players who dont win for JG ! lol

They will keep doing that and try to win with JG, who as I said before, is still HC because he is easy for jones boys to
work with, he gives them no problems, and they can play with the team however they want..
JG does whatever they say, so they have a comfortable relationship with JG, that they wouldnt have with another coach.
And sadly they like that more than winning a SB.
They have had what they see as 2 good years, 2014 and 2016, and that makes them think they are doiing good with JG.

Freddy’s loss along with any time Martin could miss or not be a 100% could certainly have some great effects to our dominating running game and protection for a QB struggling in passing game.

If the strength of the team is reduced it’s going to have some lasting effects.

Losing Lee exposed our weakness in the middle of our defense without pressure from the outside.

As far as losing Smith. That was coupled with losing Zeke as well.

Poor adjustments sure but our QB didn’t react well either .
