Root of the Rico argument

what if another team pics rico up and he continues to stink it up and be average.

your argument is based on the ASSUMPTION that Rico is a baller....you haven't considered that he may not be given your bias towards hating garrett.

actually my argument is - the reason there is a big argument over rico is that lots of fans totally do not trust garrett.

well, lets not forget that Marty B played for 5 teams....it seems like a lot of coaches some with superbowl rings who have trouble with free spirited players....

I take Free over parnell who hasnt' really set the tackle world on fire...but I guess its a matte of preference.

employees can get messed up and become disgruntled for other employees.
that is why many companies prefer virgin employees straight from college.
our company did that in spades starting with interns that get hired if they do well.

my point is - if we had a real coach - there would not be much of an argument over a player that the head coach has been knocking.
It’s because our HC is not really our HC. JJ runs the show. JG says Rico can’t practice enough. Meaning he needs to play in actual games. But I don’t think he wants him. Why has he not gotten a chance to run with the 1s? Someone likes and believes in Rico. It’s not JG. Last preseason he is doing well except his blocking. Now his blocking is ok if he is blocking the right guy. Lol. Does JG have the power to not put him with the starters?

Garrett has been around football his entire life. His father was a football player, scout and coach.

Pretty sure he can spot a lost cause when he sees it.

Maybe It's the owner know matter who the coach is?

if u go by the typical delegation in an organization, garrett has the say when rico plays.
note that it appears after stephen said good things about rico did rico get more reps.
i suspect that means stephen does not call down from the booth to tell garrett to play rico.

why do many, include i, dont trust this.
one reason is the rumor about rico liking a negative tweet about garrett.
i can just see garrett getting his revenge and exerting his power this way.

you mean the garrett that cannot keep time, that has formations where they run 100% of the time and other formations where they pass 100% of the time.

Oh what a world, I just want Dallas to win the Super Bowl this year and Rico to be a part of the win. To be or not to be is the question that will pain the Cowboys Fans.

lol, other than Amen Dola, name the last player we cut who balled out. As long as it's NIOBY Waldo. NIOBY? Not in our back yard. Rico will make it.

It seems to be a fairly common theme with some posters that former Cowboys frequently go elsewhere and have great careers. The evidence just doesn't support it. Even with Amendola, he was an undrafted rookie with Dallas, and as such a long shot to begin with. As I recall he was one of the last cuts. Sure it was a mistake, but not a glaring or obvious one at the time. Hell, even looking back it wasn't all that big. He became a nice player, but his highest yardage total was 689 yards in a season, and his highest TD total was 4 in a season. Not exactly a standout.

I want Dallas to win the Super Bowl this year, and don't give a hoot if Rico is a part of it or not. Hell, I don't care if Dak or Lee or anyone else is part of it if we win.

if we had a competent coach, there would not be much argument if the head coach said a player is lacking

however, we have garrett, who many do not trust.
if we had a coach like belicheat, i suspect most will take the coach at his word about the worth of players.

unfortunately the best argument is garrett's self-preservation.
what if another team picks rico up and he balls out.

He won’t

Because we are fans we (the more emotional) have a tendency to get all wrapped up in the hype regarding a particular player. We tend to jump on the hype train like a chicken on a June bug. When the player fails it's hard to let go. Just human nature. No harm. No foul.

I don’t get the Rico arguments. None of the TEs are any good. It’s like arguing between Rush and White. They both suck. Flip and coin and put one of the scrubs in. Someone has to suck out there. No use arguing about it.

Rico has a much higher upside than the other guys, and is at least physically prepared to play at the NFL level. I wouldn't say that about Schulz or Jarwin.

Garrett has been coaching his entirely life. He knows (or should know) something about pro football knows what it takes to get to build a a championship team.

However, there are many signs that he hasn't got a clue. He just one of those status quo guys that utter platitudes to the hearts content of the FO and naive fans alike.

He a "coach in training" as what Jerry has mentioned. He should not be.

He also doesn't know his X and Os about football. He should.

He can't adapt or make changes to the playbook. But his the head coach and he should what to do.

Frankly, Garrett is an utter, miserable failure of a head coach. I don't know what value he brings to this team except being Jerry's lapdog.
