it's a passing leagueAll because of receivers? People really overvalue that position.

If this team is going to underwhelm and only get 5 wins, then I say they should try a little harder and only get say 3 wins... That would garner a nice draft position and maybe get some changes made on the coaching staff.
If you're going to suck, then really suck... Don't screw around with average sucking.
We will see how valuable the WR position really is this year with all of these scrubs playing the position. It will be a pleasant surprise if the passing offense is in the top 25 this year. All because of receivers? People really overvalue that position.
Just saws analysts make those predictions, giving them less wins than the Saints, Rams, Bears and 49ers. Gotta say, the boys always seem to perform better during a season when the expectations are low, so I’m not mad about it.
When ‘pundits’ are scanning the field they usually make predictions based on shiny established playmakers. The strength of this team will be in the trenches offensively and defensively.
I'm worried about the coaching staff. We have the same offensive coordinator that is pass happy. We have fewer proven weapons. The defense seems to be better ...unknown if they are good enough to add wins to our record. Just imagine what's "gonna" happen when Dak gets injured on these RPO's. We won't win a game with our back ups. It's a shame that we haven't learned our lesson about having an adequate back up qb.I can't say they're wrong. Just do not know where this team is at offensively.
I've got some confidence in the defense.
The passing offense is a big ? for me.
Until we see this offense operating for a few games we just do not how efficient the passing offense will be.
The efficiency of the passing offense is going to determine the success of the Cowboy season. If it's like the first half of '17 some good things could happen. If it's like the last half then 5-7 wins could happen.
I think the D will shine.A lot of people think the defense will be same old same ole.
They may be right and if it is we will be bad.
So what was last year?the cowboys are not consistent winners year after year up one year down the next is one reason and most nfl talking heads don't like the cowboys but I think seven wins is pretty close to where they will end up

you make some good points , I agree totally that the bkup qb's are awful, I cant believe they are going with them, but I guess JG and the JonesIt's the receivers and a few other areas that have many predicting doom and gloom. Witten and Dez led the team in TD receptions last season. Witten was a dependable chain mover/security blanket for Dak and he was the teams number one leader. The Cowboys have nothing but JAGS at WR and TE until proven otherwise. Dak isn't the type of QB that makes receivers better, he doesn't throw them open. If he doesn't bounce back with a solid season the Cowboys aren't going to pay him and they'll be looking for another QB. We're playing with a backup center for the foreseeable future and that could affect the entire OL if Looney doesn't perform or gets injured. Part of the reason Rush and White looked so bad in preseason was our backup OL. Speaking of our backup QB situation it's as bad as I've seen.
Rush sucked in preseason with poor throws and suffering a number of turnovers. If Dak gets injured it will be 2015 all over again. We're entering the season with an unproven kicker who's never kicked in the NFL. Three of our top scorers from the past decade Dez, Witten and Bailey are gone. If Zeke is the only offensive threat we have and has to account for most of the Cowboys points they'll struggle to win 8 games. If Zeke gets injured good luck scoring points without him, Dez, Witten or Bailey. At least one receiver is going to have to step up BIG and pose a threat and our new kicker is going to have to be consistent especially in presser situations or I don't see how the Cowboys are going to contend this season.
Anything is possible this season regardless how bad things look, we've seen it in the past but in the past we had a lot of talent at the skill positions. There's no secret what opponents are going to attempt to do. They're going to be gunning to stop Zeke and force Dak and our receivers to beat them. If none of our receivers step up and become a threat it's going to affect Dak's performance and this will likely be a very long season and you can quote me on that.
Usually those low predictions come after an average season, once we rattle off 5 in a row the tunes will change and of course when we win the SB we will be favored early next year, just the way it is. We have not proved anything to anyone in a while. But I agree I think we do better when we are under the radarJust saws analysts make those predictions, giving them less wins than the Saints, Rams, Bears and 49ers. Saints and Rams might easily be in NFC title game, having less than them isnt disasterous.Just saws analysts make those predictions, giving them less wins than the Saints, Rams, Bears and 49ers. The problem is they are not impartial. Since most don't like the Cowboys, and our recent history, they pick against us and expect little. I ignore them......
