Jerry and Dez at Beyonce Concert

Here's the thing.

Sean Lee had some harsh words for Dez. We know Dak couldn't stand him here. Witten barely utters his name. The coaches were fed up.

So what is Jerry doing to the locker room by buddying up with Dez at a concert less than 48 hours after a loss in Carolina?

Optics.

Witten loves Dez.

Witten has said several times that Dez is the most valuable relationship he has built in the league.

Or something like that. I’m generalizing.

I’m not sure Dak has any input.

I still think it’s Linehan and Stephen as the main people pushing for his release. Garrett was the last to get on board(besides Jerry, I don’t think he was ever on board).

He just scored more TDS than any wR since he entered the league.

Still has I’d imagine... even with his decline.

Only Gronk scored more.

Elite at putting points on the board.
Unless you're going to use his career and conveniently pick out what you want to fit, it's useless having this discussion.
I don't care that he led the NFL in TDs once in his career.
I don't care that he led the NFL in yards once in his career.
I don't care that he has the team record for TDs.

His body of work is average. Not just TDs. Even though he finalized the drive, the team got in position too.

I'm wondering the same thing myself. People can say whatever they want about it, or that it "means nothing", but even they can't deny that it doesn't look good. And it certainly doesn't present a United approach.

I'm the furthest thing from a Scott Linehan fan there is, but the guy the owner is partying with last night was ripping him a new one on social media Sunday. Two days later, he's living it up with the Boss?
I agree with the Linehan comment. I didn't add that because I figured most would reply with, he's right about him. Lol which is true but when your owner keeps him and cuts you then you blast him and then the owner is hanging with you at a concert, it's just not a good look.

Bryant was never elite.
With Romo, he was.

Like Jordy Nelson with Rodgers, Julian Edelman with Brady, Isaac Bruce with Warner, Mark Clayton with Marino, Rod Smith with Elway, etc, etc.

Laurent Robinson was signed after the season started, and he had 1,000 receiving yards with Romo. Similar scenarios played out with Miles Austin, Patrick Crayton, Terrance Williams, and even Sam Hurd. Then what did those guys do when they left here for bigger contracts?

Dez is far from a complete receiver, but what he does well, he's elite at it. If he'd have kept his trap shut, he'd be paired up with Rodgers or Brady right now doing that same thing.

Never been a photo op Jerry didn’t like. The shot with those young teenage girls behind them reflects how out of place an old fart like him was.

But the fact he was buddying up with Dez so soon after a loss is a reminder how detached Jerry is from football reality . It’s never been about Dallas Cowboys football . Only Jerry Jone$.

I don’t think its a bad look at all.

If I had to guess I would say this was Jerry inviting Dez to join him so they could talk and clear the air of any hard feelings. Jerry cares about his players past and present.
There was nothing to ever clear up with them 2. Dez praised JJ and JJ praised Dez. If they did have something to clear up there are better places to do it than at a public concert. Lol it's a bad look no matter how anyone tries to spin it.

If gruden can cut and resign someone............

This is a joke. Look forward to the offseason.

It's not. And people can try to put a number on how bad it looks, but the one unshakeable fact is that to whatever degree people want to put on it. It looks bad!

Not elite. He led the league a couple of times, once for TDS and once for yards. Elite is the best of the best. He's not elite.

I don't want to rehash the whole scenario, but you're partly right and partly wrong. It's a complicated mess dealing with Dez.

You are absolutely correct about Linehan and Stephen. They drove the Dak over Romo decision and the Dez decision.

That's exactly why he's campaigning to play there. He knows as well as anyone that's he needs a great passing quarterback to "make him".

He is the all-time leader in TD receptions in Cowboys history.

He has more TDs than any receiver in the NFL since he was drafted.

I understand what you're saying, and I agree, he was a Romo product. Dez never will be mistaken for the polish of Jerry Rice.

But for what he did, he was a nightmare when teamed up with the right kind of quarterback. That's elite in its own way.

And Belichick chose Corey Coleman. Yeah, him. Wow, that must have stung Dez.

Yep..

Dez was an unpolished reciever but his raw talent was freakishly elite.

Well the dummy sure didn't do himself any favors bashing Linehan on social media Sunday, even if he was right. No team wants to have a headache like that.

But it's funny while the rest if the league distances themselves from Dez, the guy who fired him is partying with him in his luxury box.

Elite is the best of the best. Not best on the team. I get that everyone is stuck on his TD team record, but it's really not that impressive given his potential.

Jason Witten would have passed him if he didn't retire. He was 4 TDs behind.
