If Dak can't throw, how do you explain 2016?

This offense has nothing right now. No one is doing well. And it all starts with the Oline play. Your not going to get perfect QB play from a guy that only been in the league two years with junk around him. Not going to happen. Anyone that thinks they will is just plain stupid. Now Dak is at a cross roads right now. He either needs to break out of it or he could fade forever. Its pretty clear that in Dallas, your not going to get everything you want. Offense is now in a total rebuild.

Well the thing is, Dak wasn't exactly getting killed out there, and he was missing some things he should've made. And yeah romo is gone now, but that is the standard we set here, since that is what we are used to. So if we've seen Romo with worse junk than what Dak had on Sunday and still make plays, we have a certain level of expectation. Also this is Dak's third year not second.

Murray was good. Zeke is supposed to be great...a generational talent.

Why are you complaining about 983 yards for 2017, considering he missed 4 games. say he averaged 100 yards per game for those 4 missed games it would be 1383. I got no problem with what Zeek did.

Not complaining. You can get that for less than a #4 pick in the draft. All you have to do is give a RB the ball 250 times @ 4 ypc and you have 1000 yards. Randle could have done that in 2015. DMC did.

You need to go back and watch the games. The receivers made great catches to keep Dak alive. All his faults showed then.... this the reason I predicted 9-7 last yr. it showed then.

You don't think that playing less games give you a smaller sample size, making disastrous game effect your average more negatively, giving you less room to recover? I mean you guys seem to be holding onto his YPC so much and ignoring that Zeek did missed 4 games in a 16 game season. How would it affect his average if we took out the games that were disaster for the cowboys team wide? All these questions would take a bit of study and research of course. But well I'm willing to give Zeek the benefit of the doubt and say that his average yards per carry would've been higher, but there were a few games where the team failed majorly where one piece on the chess board wouldn't have effected the outcome at that point. Anyway, the guy we would've drafted were it not for Zeek seems like a bit of a knucklehead XD and I rather avoid that :)

Can't really agree with this. If you watch the 22, it clearly shows that the play design is getting guys open a lot, but Dak is not finding them or not executing his throws. Pretty soon, you have to ask yourself who's not doing his job: Scott Linehan or Dak Prescott. Let's face it: By year 3 Dak should be a lot further along than he showed in the Panthers game. This is especially true because how weak theri secondary is. When will the excuses end?

I don't think its necessarily the case that one of them is good and the other bad. Neither are doing a good job. Part of the OC job is to put players in a position to succeed. Maybe Dak should be rolling out more........he seems to be better outside the pocket anyway. How good is Linehan? Nobody has come calling for his services since he arrived in Dallas. He might be out of football after this gig.

He was driving a Ferrari that year. Rusty Romo came off the bench with that same offense and looked like Johnny Unitas on one drive (and clearly outplayed Dak in that game). How's Dak done playing with merely a good offense since?

So what you claimed it was Romo and you were wrong, who cares what he was driving, he put numbers no other rookie had at the time.

For most of the game, It looks like Linehan put the receivers in a position to succeed, but the QB failed to execute.I'm kind of getting tired of the whole receivers can't get open and Linehan is running a Knute Rockne era playbook thing. Its getting old.

The turth is that the QB needs to figure out why he's staring down covered receivers and missing the open ones. He also needs to figure out why he brings the ball down instead of firing to open receivers. He has to figure out why he'd prefer to hold the ball longer than neccessary and throw a pass off his back foot or on the run, instead of planting his feet and firing to an open receiver earlier in the play. I'm not sure there is an answer that Scott Linehan can find to fix that. I'm not sure any OC could.

Because voters are biased towards QBs. Zeke was the real MVP that season.

It doesn't matter, He won it, and usually a great season by a Qb coincides with a good running game. Romo best season ever was when Murray ran for over what 15-1800 yards.

You must hve mixed me up with another poster. I never said that Romo was Dak's guru. I did say that maybe he should have been.

I'm to the point where I'm fine with Dak being traded. The amount of complaining and bickering over the guy is making following the cowboys highly unpleasant. Personally, I think he will be a solid qb, and he'd be smart not to have his career sacrificed to prop up Garrett. It will be refreshing not to have to hear the constant groans and aches from people who hate Dak because 'he took Romo's job'.

Murray won an award that year too.

Well, enjoy rewatching that season on Tivo. I hope I'm wrong, but I'm not sure we'll see another one like it any time soon.I've never seen such a regression in a QB without an injury before. Hopefully Dak can right the ship, but I'm worried that he lacks the gits to make the routine passes down field that an NFL QB has to make for a team to win. The Giants secondary is a lot better than Carolina's, so we'll see soon if this was an aberation or not.
