Dak wasn't that good last night **merged**

Dak has a really bad habit that he’s displayed since day 1. He fades/drifts backwards on far too many of his throws. Instead of setting his feet and torquing his body, he is off balance and throwing off his back foot causing the ball to sail. This happens even when he doesn’t have someone right in his face and he needs to correct it. I would have to go watch the play again, but I think he did it on the Rico overthrow.
I rewatched that play. Dak could have made a better throw for sure, but it looks like he was supposed to throw to a spot and expected Rico to get there a little faster than he did. He lofted it up high when he came out of the break, think that's about timing between him and Rico. Hopefully, Rico will be getting more reps with the 1st team

Prescott needs to be better than he was last night and I doubt he would disagree. We need 2016 Prescott or better if we want to do anything better than .500.

Dak played better. Not bad, not great, but better than his last performance. If Dak can play better than his previous performance, I think we will have a more positive outlook on his play. He is always saying he has to play better and improve, so let's not jump the gun and wait a few weeks and see if he improves on a weekly basis.

no one expects him to throw for 400 yards. but 160...not good. and that's the fastest way to ruin your run game when teams don't respect your pass game, they focus on stopping the run....giants were bold enough to even say it...believe me every other defensive coordinator is thinking the same thing.... minimally we have to be on average in the 250 range......we have been far far far from it.
How is it not good if we won the game? He did a great job at extending plays with his legs, which is one of his skill sets we need to use. His statistics mean nothing. What good are flashy numbers if we're not winning?

We are going to have to figure out how to consistently put up more than 20 points on the board.

At this point, I agree, though just think - the defense was missing Woods, Gregory and Irving and still had 6 sacks, the oh-so-fantastic ODB had only 4 catches for 51 yards and NO touchdowns. With Irving and the others back, who's to say the Cowboys can't consistently hold teams under 20 pts? There were 9 teams last year that held teams to 20 pts or less for the season, it's not like it's near impossible to do.

I have hopes that Williams and Looney can learn each others' tendencies and play better, Zeke's still averaging 4.6 yards a carry, despite having few holes to run through. Penalties can be cleaned up, too, if they work at it.

Would be better to increase the scoring, but at least there's reason to believe it can happen.

Again people, we can't know too much for sure after 2 weeks. For example, the Giants go to Houston next week. If they shut down their offense then the Cowboys performance wouldn't look as bad.

Eli better call out sick next week. Watt and Clowney are going to give him problems methinks.

Hmm, 160 yards. We need more explosive plays like the first play. 160 yards isn't going to cut it.

I admit that he has the tools to get the job done but he has to get this conservative nature out of his system.

I've changed on the guy but like I said about Romo, you take me to the NFL championship or Super Bowl, I'll get in your corner for life.

Don't be ridiculous. No one is saying he's the next Brady. If some of you clowns actually enjoyed the game you wouldn't be complaining like a child when we won the damn game.
I flew half way across the country to go to the game. Went out Saturday night and watched some great cover bands of Def Leppard, and Motley Crue, followed that up with Sunday breakfast and about 4 hours of tailgating. Went into the stadiumand watched our defense dominate and make me an absolute believer in that group...especially knowing Gregory and Irving will be in that mix soon.i enjoyed the hell out of the entire weekend including the game............ that does not mean I’m putting on my dak blinders that some of you seem to be wearing because dak actually completed one long ball and had no pics.

We have a great run game, why anyone expects Prescott to throw for 400 yards is beyond me. They spread the ball out way better than last week.
Using Thompson a lot also. That bomb to Austin was just what they needed. More deep shots during these games will back them defenses out of the box.

The whole team looked more in sync last night.

Defense has to work on tackling. They let barkley get way to much. Our first defender has to get him down. He should have been tackled for a loss at least 5 times.

16/25 for 160, that's a 64% completion rate and 6.4 yards par pass...which is bad onto it self......one play was for 64...which is good, but that means he was 15/24 for 96 yards.....and a paltry 4 yards per pass attempt.... that's ugly. really ugly... that means that teams don't respect the deep or medium throws and willing to gamble...yes they gave up a 64 TD pass, but that's one play....

one thing that was evident again last night, in the second half TD drive, he was setting his feet and making the throws...they were on target and had zip....then he was ugly footwork again for a lot of the other throws....

They didn’t ask him to throw for 300. Wasn’t that type of game. The film, the W, the rating tell the story.

What else could a detractor say today? Well what you’re saying. You have no basis.

and he was still very average...... and he was still making throws without his feet set and his first instinct was pull the ball down and run.....this ain't college wishbone offense...if you don't make accurate throws down field from the pocket... you are doomed to suck...
their letting Dak play his game more and we all saw more production. I saw accurate throws

Take away that one throw to Tavon and this was a repeat performance of the Carolina game

He needs to get better on deep throws

ok, even with that he was 6.8 YPA...he still had foot work problems......

he made deep throws...okey doke...he made one completion....woohoo
Yea cause Gallup isn't too blame for dropping a deep pass that hit him in the hands. Yep let's blame Dak for that. Seriously dude your hate for Dak is amazing

If he does, that will because of injury or the others just aren't that good. I still do not see him as a #1 TE.

You must be a real gem to be around.

That's not true at all.

I do agree he needs to get better but what player doesn't

Is it possible? Sure, absolutely. Is it a realistic way to build a team for success? No way.
I know it’s a divisional game, but let’s not lose sight of who we beat yesterday...

And I look forward to Irving back if his head is in it...Woods and Gregory? Meh, hopefully they make an impact but those 2 don’t get me excited
