Are we going to be seeing a lot more of Dak running?

I absolutely loved Dak taking off and running last night. That made the difference and won us the game. Looked a lot like he picked up something from watching Cam in week 1.

Do you think this is a new dynamic we are going to add to our offense?

More than he did against Carolina. Probably about the same as he did against the Giants.

7 rushes for 45 yards.

720 over the course of a season. Newton is in that ballpark every year, having 754 last season.

I'm all-in and love the idea of Dak running at the pace he did last night. If he can keep doing it at a similar level to Cam, it adds another dimension to our offense.

With Linehan? Who knows.

I remember reading something today with Stephen Jones saying you can't run your QB alot. Too risky. Have a feeling then we are going to be extremely disappointed most games when we don't have Dak running hardly at all even when the offense isn't working.

I think the Giants game should be the minimum amount of QB runs personally. It helps the offense so much and until Dak can sharpen up his passing game, he/the team really needs the running aspect of his game to fill in the gaps until he gets better. Unfortunately, I believe the Giants game will be the extreme amount of running Dak will do going forward to "protect him".

3-5 per game. Usually 2 of those will pop for big yardage. I'd just like to see him go down sooner instead of absorbing full tackles.

After the 64 yd opening pass to Austin, Prescott threw for a whomping 94 yrds. Eventually, opposing Ds are just going to go after Prescott on the RPO and ignore Elliott. Teams will just attack Prescott and if that happens, only a matter of time until #4 is injured and Dallas looks to their backup QBs which is a death wish.
Teams try to protect their QBs, but because Prescott lacks in the passing games, to generate offense, the RPO is added.

Prescott won't survive the season

I don't know that it will always be as much as Sunday, but I suspect we will continue to see running plays like we saw Sunday. It's not really a new thing, just was used a little more.

Absolutely.

Not only run option but also adding run/pass option to arsenal. We have a QB with college skill set (let's admit it and embrace it) might as well utilize his skill set.

It worked big time. I hope we use it at similar levels to last night. Dak has a similar skill-set to Cam. He doesn't have the accuracy or ability to be a Drew Brees, but he doesn't need to be.

Keeps a defense honest reminding them he can run. I would like to see some designed runs, not just for chunk yards, but a reminder Dak can be a scrambler.

Dak can still give you really good play out of pro formations but spread it out please.

Linehan is known to stop doing what works and do the opposite.
Garrett is known to call the same play 4 times in a row because "no one sees it coming"

See: 4 back-to-back throws from Romo to Bennett in the end zone on the exact same play.

Given the apparent lack of a threatening deep passing game.. Dak runing might help him get a few more confidence and time to work on the passing game.. and it will give the defenses that to worry about.

Let's hope so. I miss seeing Zeke sprinting down the middle of the field.

I don't expect a lot of what you saw in that first possession and this is why
that first series was 100% scripted as was the preseason game big pass to Gallup
Tavon says as much

so we know Dak can make these throws, and it's making me think in 2016 you had guys like Romo telling him in game 'if you see this look, this will be a chance to take a shot here'
but it's the stuff after that scripted series where it get's conservative
ultimately it's on Dak to take the play(s) that are called and run them using his best judgment presnap and that includes reading and anticipating routes
we know he can run the option and he's good at it. it stood out in college
if he isn't successfully moving the ball deep unless it's scripted then I guess running as an option is better than them stuffing Zeke
sooner or later he's going to get blown up though
