You should try comparing Romo to Danny White. Oh wait, Danny White went to three consecutive NFC Championships. So we need to compare him to like Quincy Carter or something along his lines.
I dunno, Romo sat the bench when he played.

Problem is we are relying on a dysfunctionally ran franchise to surround a less than great QB.

I’d like our chances better with the front office and coaching staff with a much greater QB.
I completely understand where you're coming from. I just think Dak is serviceable enough with a good defense and a solid running back in Ezekiel Elliott. If the offensive line can just get healthy we can make a run or two. It will all be up to the defense to stay consistent. I don't think Dak can carry the team

I agree. We don't need him to pass more. We need to run the ball. And it's also nice to have a good defense for a change.

different era, nfl today has more 4000-4500 yard passers in a season that it is no longer a rarity. Back when Aikman played pretty much Marino was the only one that consistently hit that threshold.
Tony came in second in the MVP race and threw for less than 3000 yards. Dak was rookie of the year and threw for less than 3000 yards. Both seasons we were one of the best teams in the NFL.

Now, the Cowboys are adding a seventh wide receiver to the team as Brice Butler is re-joining the band. But the addition of Butler doesn’t exactly have fans jumping out of their seat. In his five years in the league, he’s caught 73 passes for 1,177 yards with eight touchdowns. He averaged just over a catch a game with the Cowboys so it’s not like he’s going to be a big difference-maker.

So, is seven the lucky number when it comes to success for the Cowboys passing attack? Well, when it comes to yards per attempt for Dak Prescott, seven is definitely the magic number. The Cowboys have never lost a regular season game when Dak averages over seven yards per attempt. They are a perfect 18-0. This speaks to the importance of being able to throw the ball down the field.

But the signing of Butler isn’t necessarily the answer to the Cowboys passing attack as the team is still trying to sort that out. While seven may be lucky in some ways, eight might be the real lucky number. As in...eight different players catching the ball for Dak.

The Cowboys have a good sample of winning with Prescott under center when he’s been able to spread the ball around to at least eight different players. Last year, he wasn’t able to do that as he was targeting Dez Bryant too much. And so far this season, he’s fell just short as well.

In each of the first two games, he’s only hit seven.

Just saw this in a post on BTB, makes spreading the ball around look so ideal.

The offense hasn't possessed the ball enough so far this season to do it, hopefully that will improve as we roll along.

uhmmm. How many yards did Romo throw for in 2014????? less than 3000??? in the age of google, fake news doesnt work very well to support an argument

in 2014 Romo threw for UNDER 200 yards 2 times.... and one of those games was 199 yards.
He threw less than 2 TD passes in a game 4 times...... and we were 1 and 3 in those games.

That's why I hate the whole it's a passing league rhetoric. The times Romo had his best years were when he had had a solid running game. Dak loses Elliott for half a year and his game suffers. we need to pass to open up the Run game and we need to run to open up the passing game. It's football 101. We don't have Brees Rodgers or Brady who can just beat any defense. That's where diehard Blues is correct. It's all on the coaches and front office to make this team successful.

Nobody complained about Dak's low passing totals his rookie season because he was efficient.
Such "complaints" have been a staple on forums like this for as long as the confusion between yards and efficiency has existed. As you implied, the greater the dissatisfaction with the player, the more widespread the confusion seems to be, but it's nothing new.

That's a lie because the tape is there for anybody that wants to watch it. I can't spin the actual game footage but keep making up stuff. I did answer your question but your question was stupid from jump. I never said he didn't have that play so hell are you blabbing about some gotcha when I never said that didn't happen? I said he threw more passes that weren't complete deep than complete.
Here have a read on it, maybe just maybe you will tug ur head out of ur *** about this..Brady’s frequency throwing long had ranged between 10.5 and 11.3 percent, ranking in the bottom half of the league. Compared to his peers, Brady relied heavily on short passes.

And Phil, incase That last one doesn't affect you, have a read on this....As a young quarterback, the biggest knock on Brady was his ability to throw deep balls.

What are you even talking about?

Someone said that and I responded with a question. Read the whole thing instead of making things up for your agenda.

You’re the one making things up for your agenda throughout this entire thread.

If you have to ask then I don't think anyone can explain it to you.

Excellent point Denim.

There are a bunch of posters on this thread who don’t even understand the point of the original post and stats. And are arguing against them without understanding what is being said in the first place.

It’s downright comical.

Bull ........ Romo had one bad playoff game ....... the other times his teams let him down.
Hummm. but I thought you all said it's all about the QB/ Or so it is with your crowd in regards to Dak Prescott? So which is it, a team sport, or the Qb wins or loses games?
