ProFootballReference.com lets you search every NFL game since 1950.
The point was to show the most similar games to the one we just played. If you read the Twitter thread or my previous post in this thread, expanding the criteria to get a bigger sample size (several hundred games or even more than a thousand games) still results in a very high winning percentage, even against winning teams or playoff teams. And that's not even considering how the opponent's passing game performed (which is roughly half the equation for winning or losing).
Change the goalpost again.
First one was Romo was careless -disproven by comparison.
Not on point in playoffs - disproven by comparison
Now Super Bowl victories - Aikman 3, Staubauch 2, Romo -0 Cowboys -0, I can't argue that team stat!
He went to and won 3 Super Bowl titles, is that not enough for you? Should he have won one more to solidify it for you? Would have had Jimmy Johnson had stayed. Comparing Aikaman, in an era where you could kill the QB to Romo, in an era where you couldn't touch the QB, give me a break. Let me have your FAN CARD! Don't ever compare those two again.
None of those are QB stats, they are all team results. The only real way that that statement would be valid is if this was golf or tennis where there is 1v1 play.
Cowboys won 5 Super Bowls.
Oh yeah Romo was so protected - surely you jest - Romo had 7 roughing the passer calls for him for his career. Try another goalpost!
There's one that's a QB stat, MVP of a SUPER BOWL!!!!!!!!!! I like that stat
You are delusional with your views on Fantasy Football. Just because you think it has ruined football, doesnt make it so. Your view of fans is so condescending it makes me ill. The fans on this board do not come here because they play Fantasy Football. Fans want wins above all else, some of just are just not so blind to think tat a mdern day NFL team can win with a QB that cant throw the ball down the field. The rules of the game have changed so drastically in the past 7 years that you must be able to throw. Look at the last 10 SB participants, not just he winners. Thats 20 QBs..... lets look
Now out of all of those, which were the QBs that consistently threw for under 200 yards? Without looking up the numbers, Id say Grossman, Wilson(that year)... and that is it.
The year Flaco won, he was unbelievable in the playoffs, same with Eli.... Kaep ran like crazy, but he was also a threat with his arm......... so face it, Dak, the current Dak will not take us anywhere, unless he drastically improves his game.
oooops, I know you will throw manning with Denver in there... and yeah, Wilson and Manning had all time great defenses those years. Do we have one?
You should try comparing Romo to Danny White. Oh wait, Danny White went to three consecutive NFC Championships. So we need to compare him to like Quincy Carter or something along his lines.
Uhh, isn't that the whole point? Fans are complaining about not passing for 200 yards on Sunday night, but we did not NEED to pass more -- we passed efficiently, built a big lead and won the game. Passing efficiency is what wins, not total passing yards.
When Eli got super bowl mvp in the 2007 super bowl while his defense held the greatest offense I'd seen to 17 points, I stopped thinking that meant anything.
What are you even talking about?
Someone said that and I responded with a question. Read the whole thing instead of making things up for your agenda.
No, that was not the point. The point was that criticism of Dak was not allowed because we won the game.
He went to two Super bowls and won both of them. Romo went to ZERO NFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES, not even close.
I have no problems criticizing Dak, but not about 160 yards.
Conservative throws like the two deep throws to the sideline, you have to put those throws in bounds and give your guy a chance, but he didn't want an interception so he put it too far outside. That's the problem we have with Dak at this moment.
And I have no problems giving him credit for doing a lot of good things in that game.
Actually Asante Samuel lost that game to be truthful!
He must have been an incredible defensive player to hold almost all the playoff teams the Giants played in both runs well below their averages.
