Skip Bayless: "Ezekiel Elliott is better than Emmitt Smith."

I don't remember Emmitt missing games because he was a dumb azz doing stupid things..

This is ridiculously funny. Zeke was never even arrested at any point in his life yet got many more games than guys actually arrested for felonies. Goodell had a witchunt. Nothing was ever proved. So with that being said, Zeke got 6 games for exposing a woman at a drunken parade? I mean that was the only thing you could stick to him...

I didn't take the time to read through 9 pages so if I say something that's already been said, I'm sorry. Emmitt had the one thing a lot of runners don't have. The ability to break tackles. I think you're either born with it or not. For example, I was born with extremely strong legs and it was hell bringing me down when I played football. Even as a 180 receiver at 23 playing semi pro football, it took a whole gang to bring me down.

Emmitt had that ability, so did guys like Barry Sanders and Sweetness and a few others. I don't think Elliott has that ability. Elliott is big, strong, fast with good vision. A side note and sort of funny, but all three of our great running backs have double T's in their name. Dorsett-Emmitt-Elliott. Funny but odd.

On his FS1 Undisputed show with Shannon Sharpe, those exact words came out of Skip Bayless' mouth. Here is the entire podcast from yesterday. The Zeke segment starts at 12:32. Skip made his comparison of both players around the 18:00 mark. Here it is:

Oh skippy, you are such a maroon. :)

Huh? Favre made the NFC title game 2 times in his last 4 years. He was even good with the Jets. No one forgot how good Favre was because he was still doing it even at his older age.
No, Favre was not good with the Jets (he led the league in interceptions) and yes, people definitely do not remember how good he was at his peak. Younger fans remember Favre as a reckless, interception prone gunslinger because of the teams he was on and don’t remember the player who won 3 MVPs in a row, something even Brady or Manning never did.
Similarly a lot of people only remember a slow, football hoarding Emmitt and not the juking, spinning, powerful Emmit who won four rushing titles in five years. That’s the only reason I can imagine someone would say Zeke was better than Emmitt.

Emmitt literally couldnt be tackled in his prime..he was unstopable

If Dallas got to the 10 yard line with Emmitt it was a touchdown 90% of the time....he was seriously unstopable down in the redzone

Uh.....NO. E. Smith was better and had a high character.

Very sensitive subject actually, as if you are a TRUE lifelong Cowboys fan such as me, Emmitt right up there in the top 3-5 of most cherished Cowboys of all time. That said, I'm old school and value the most in any pro-football player, "that which you can't teach" and I do believe Zeke might be a bit more above Emmitt in that department. But Emmitt was a true warrior and gave you everything, every snap, every game. He wasn't as explosive, but he made the right moves when he needed to and could put it down and run you over if he had to.

This is true, but Emmitt could also hit a home run. He wasn't as good as Barry but Emmitt would take it to the house too. So far Emmitt is even a better home run hitter than Zeke is right now, and you know teams were stacking the box trying to stop him. Zeke needs to hit some home runs.

Zeke has over 15K yards to go (ruff estimate). He is faster than Emmitt. But to date he is not better than Emmitt Smith or Jim Brown or Tony Dorsett and Barry Sanders...Yet. Pump your brakes.

Zeke has a lot of work to do to catch this man here. Could juke you, break your ankles, run through you, run around you, hit a hole and take it the distance.

Yeah, I listened to this on youtube, I had to go douse myself in holy water to remove the blasphemy and before the good football lord hit my @@@ with lightning!!

Nope. Go back and look at early ES.
Demarco Murray was better than ES. 22 was there to run through the huge lanes provided by the best run blockers money can buy. He didn't do it fast and he didn't scare anyone with his size...but he did run some people over when he was in his prime...if he was on the lions instead of Dallas he would have been averaging 3 yards a carry.
