Irving not playing

Except you can't depend on him for those 8 games. It's a constant threat of suspension or something else with him. You may only get 1 or even no games.

He plays about 8 games a year, the rest of the time he’s suspended or injured...

Yeah, I'll "take it", right up until the day he's out the door. It's just disappointing and frustrating to see these guys waste their lives and talents and hurt your favorite team in the process.

I can't help but imagine where this team could be if lifelong boneheads like Greg Hardy, Rolando McClain and now David Irving actually "got it" and realized their opportunity and potential. Both for them personally and this team professionally.

That's where I'm coming from.
:banghead:

Well, if those boneheads had gotten it, they wouldn't have ended up here. They ended here because they couldn't or can't get it.

How may games he's played each year heretofore is moot. The reason he's not played a full season is the same reason there is no guarantee he'll play 8 this year, or next, or the next.

Well yeah he’s running out of suspensions I’ll give u that lol

That's a good point as well. It's disappointing that even when given second and sometimes third chances, they still failed to get it or realize it.

I'm having a senior moment here - who was the MLB pitcher that had like 9 chances. He was with the Angels, Yankees and Rangers plus a half dozen other teams. Some guys just don't get it.

**Edit** I remember now - Steve Howe

Oh yeah, talk about a terrible example. Sheesh!
:omg:
The ultimate poster child for cluelessness, and an enabling system.

Really?

This is David Irving we're talking about here.

Do you really want to claim that anyone is "jumping to conclusions" at this point?

Do you really want to look that dumb?

Wow. Your comment is out of line. It was a borderline decision on whether he was going to be active on Sunday because of physical preparedness. We know Irving missed some practice time this week and we know he has both some active addiction issues as well as some family issues going on. That’s a full salad bowl, esp. if it’s Irving we are talking about.

You do know that quote about what happens when one assumes stuff, right? And your trail of insults and such in this thread...isn’t real becoming.

One thing you learn playing football is you play with who you have. TyCraw has been balling so there's a consultation, plus DLaw is at LE.

Clear it up, what did you say with that piece of work? Don't tell me what your intention wasn't, tell me what your intention was?

What were you hoping to accomplish by saying that?

Does it matter, as you a.ready have you opinion no matter what. I’m done responding to your nonsense as you are wasting my time. I have much better things to do.

I have no delusions about trusting Irving. And neither do the Cowboys front office and coaches. Why you are feeling the need to spray insults and rant is a different matter.

Who's telling me my comment is "out of line"? Or giving me the "assume" line?

But I'm "spreading insults and ranting"? Maybe you should check yourself while you're at it. And who your rushing to try to defend here as well.

Curious...Does anyone here want us to cut Irving right now?

Not me, and they wouldn't even if this fan wanted them to. But I am frustrated to get more disappointing news about a guy who has been a steady source of it for far too long.

A smart front office would somehow manage to get value for him.

I can't ding the Cowboys for not being able to trade this mess. No GM who wanted to keep his job would ever sign on for this roller coaster.

Teams with more going on can take more risks. This team needs players that it can count on week in and week out. I'm guilty of pushing for Randy Gregory in the 2nd round, and though he may still end up a stand out player, that was a mistake regardless of how it plays out.
