8-8 would be the worst thing for this franchise

Part of the reason why I'm not upset about the loss. This is still a ****** offense with a mediocre QB, no game breakers at WR, and we all know about the coaching staff.

Nope, the worst thing for this team is to finish 8-8. Does not get you into the post season. Does not get Garrett and Co. fired. Does not net you a top 10 draft pick. This is NOT a winning football team; we know that. So a 26-24 win against the Lions means very little in the end.

We need a reboot, and it can't happen until we hit rock bottom. We know that. Knew it in 1988 and again in 2002.

8-8 is a pipe dream at this point. You don’t win 8 games if you can’t get 20 points in a game.

Then...good!

But let's be real, with a weak NFCE, I'm sure we'll eek out at least 2-3 more wins from the divisional opponents alone. Then there's the Titans and Bucs at home -- two teams that can also have scoring issues. Dallas could win 7, which also doesn't help in the long run.

If you take a look at our schedule then you have to think that we won't make it to 8 wins this year. We just can't score points.

@Jaguars
Commanders
@ Titans
Eagles
Falcons
@ Commanders
@ Saints
@ Eagles
Colts
@ Buccaneers
Giants

I don't know how many wins you guys see there but I see 3 or 4.

Agreed, thd reality is that 8-8 and being in the hunt (until the final weeks) sells tickets.

We’ve been in the hunt with Garrett for many years hence why Jerry keeps him around. If we want Garrett to go this team needs to bomb, and with the way we’re playing, 6-10 is realistic.

No need to worry about 8-8.

They've gone through the softest part of their schedule and they're 2-3.

I agree. I ABSOLUTELY do not want us going 8-8. That would set us back substantially. If we're not going to go to the playoffs, then let's just tank the season now, and get a better WR and/or QB and/or maybe a top safety.

Couldn’t agree more.

We need to be really good or really bad.

Yeah, those are mostly good teams. Even the Falcons who are crappy match up very well against us. Colts looks like the most winnable game and I can see Luck destroying us. Here's hoping we lose out and get the #1 pick. We need all new coaches and a blue chip QB. The defense will be good and we can invest in some offense.

Jags & Titans are home games. The first Commanders game is on the road.

I have not purchased any Cowboys merchandise or attended a game since 2003... hoping most of the fans would do the same. Yet every home game has been sold out since then as the mediocrity continues.

Why do you care who the QB is with Garrett as coach? We had Romo for 10 years and it didn't even matter. Even Romo couldn't overcome the horrid Garrett. Get your priorities straight.

With simply an above average QB, the Cowboys win vs. Houston easily. A brilliant defensive performance was wasted due to horrible QB play. Multiple interceptions, 66 QB rate, off target passes all night. Dak is lucky he didn't have a 3rd interception. If you want to discuss priorities, let's discuss the fact the GM under-invested in the most important position on the team.
