i dont think i have ever seen this level of agreement to tank (or let garrett screw up) the rest of the season.

i think most of us, including moi, r finally in agreement that dak is not the answer and need the high draft pick for the qb...

I read "tank" here every season yet never get a coherent definition of what that means:

Are the young players on the field going to just quit playing?
Are we going to release our players and just play practice squad guys?
Are the coaches going to start taking intentional safeties?

It's one of those give up words that gets tossed around out of laziness and frustration. This isn't the NBA where you just sit a couple guys and viola!

You can’t have it both ways. You either want them to win or want them to lose. You’re just playing games with your own conscious trying to justify quitting.

There's that word again. Just because people want a change after 20+ years of not getting to the Super Bowl, doesn't mean they quit.

They might be frustrated but they're still here aren't they?

Enough with the whole "quitting" BS.

If you want to see it as all puppies and rainbows, may I suggest the Disney channel and Cartoon Network.

Lol my gosh. What a bunch of give ups.

Our division is a complete cluster. If the Commanders lose tonight (likely), then we are half a game out of first. The goal is making the playoffs and that is still very much alive.

It's become a badge of honor around this place to be the first guy to give up.

Even funnier, they actually think it'll get Garrett fired and - even better - think THIS time Jerry will hire the right coach. :muttley:

Root for every win you can get, because the Jones boys aren't building another winner by cleaning house. We've got over 2 decades of evidence to prove it.

Wasn’t talking to you. I was talking to those who want to tank or said they aren’t watching anymore. Take your puppies and rainbows and put em where the sun don’t shine :)

trade some players of value but much lower value 2 years from now
put in young player.
make sure starters are totally healthy or do not play them
put in slower players in special teams
of course do not taking intentional safeties as there could be penalties including loss of draft picks

Either we continue like this for another 20 years keep shuffling the roster with jags or hit bottom once and jump to the top.
staying in the middle is no option.

If we don't tank, we go 7-9 and pick in their middle of the pack, thus continued mediocrity.
If we tank, Jerry will find a way to squander our great picks and get us a punter or DE with drug and violence problems.
We are screwed until god takes Jerry to heaven.

This team is done. It's better to lose now but I won't root for the team to lose... I just will not be upset if they do going forward because it is for the best.

Nice summary. Lifelong fan since the 60's.... At least then we were close and improving. All I see this year is regression, and having our 2 young stars take a pounding primarily to me due to play calling.

WE fool a few times , but generally we are getting creamed at the LOS and free runners into the backfield no wonder Dak is running for his life and trying to make a play with a scramble drill.... Meanwhile other QB's at least have a semi clean pocket to throw from...

I'm one of those guys that said we need to tank. So you were talking to me as well.

And your use of the word "quitter" is quite old. We're all still here. Just frustrated at the results since 1995.

Get over yourself.

No, I want them to win. But if the team is going to suck, I'd rather it net is a good draft spot. That isn't hoping the team loses...

If to you that seems like I want the team to lose, then I honestly don't care.

I'm trying to find the quote but I recall Jerry West saying the worst thing a sport franchise can be is mediocre, not good enough to truly compete for championships, not bad enough to draft enough impact, game-changing players.
