Here's what this move boils down to, the whole organization is all in on Dak. You don't make this move if you don't believe in the QB.

Stupid is what stupid does ......... and we are sooooo freaking stupid I cannot even express how pissed off I am right now. This FO has learned nothing over the years from its mistakes which is why we haven't had 2 consecutive 10 win season in forever.

So, now we bring in a guy whose not having a good year.......didn't have a good year last year..............has no familiarity with the offense or chemistry with Dak. But, he's going to come here and do what for us exactly?

What a bonehead move.
It's bad, but not nearly THAT bad.

I'm stunned at the stupidity. What's going to be real fun is seeing all the guys available in the draft when our former pick comes up in the 1st.

Cooper is not lazy like Williams was. I like Cooper. I like what a "real" number one can do for this offense.

But I don't like the trade. Maybe the Cowboys really had no choice. There will be no free agent receivers next season of Cooper's caliber. It was either get him now, or go through 2019 with the same group of guys we had before.

However, why the Cowboys just gave up a 1st straight up bothers me. Could they not have gotten at least a third or fourth back from Oakland in the deal? Or maybe send Oakland a second in 2019 and a conditional pick in 2020 if Cooper gains so many yards, etc.?

What exactly happed with the RW trade? I mean our prolific passer, whom carried the team and made everyone around him better and made countless receivers into pro bowl players just couldn't make it work? RW must have really sucked.
I'm going to wait and see, Cooper might not make Dak better but the receiving corp got better.

I highly doubt this was a unianimous decision. I wonder what the divide was....this is definitely a Jerry move and I don't see how the coaches wouldn't be for it, I wonder if he had his son/McClay/scouts on board.

Does this mean the Jones cartel FO is planning on another “special teams draft” as in 2009 after the Roy Williams trade? That year, we didn’t draft until round three.

I like Cooper too.............but not for a first round pick and not paired with Dak.

A few things to add on here.

Dallas likely was going to go WR in the first round. No receiver has the resume that Cooper has and a proven player. Sometimes it’s better to get your guy than overdraft a Ekuban or Carver.

It’s a fire because Philly offered a second. Likely would’ve gone into a bidding war of adding more picks. They just got their guy.

The real culprit in this trade, is Jerry still believes we will win the division. So in his mind, he’s trading a pick in the 20s.

Now I’ll wait to see how this plays out before I panic. But, I like this move if we would’ve beat Houston and Washington. Instead of 3-4, we are 5-2 and on top.

Well Bob, I don't see how this team can get any better. Might as well burn the first round pick and look for guys hoping to be special teamers.

Well, Dak is our QB and we have to roll with him. Nobody is going to send us Patrick Mahomes or Jared Goff. I get that Prescott has not produced as much as we'd like, but I put that more on our coaches and the surrounding cast. Maybe Cooper can draw some extra coverage away from Beasley, who can now go back to being Dak's security blanket.

Prescott will be on the spot now more than Cooper with this trade. The Cowboys need a definitive answer on Dak and maybe this is the way to get it.

All in on the HC and OC. We let them use next year's first. You don't do that if you're thinking about changes for next year.

It's never ever getting any better around here.

This just depresses me. All in on a big contract for Cooper. They're probably all in on Dak. They're all in on Garrett and Linehan.

It's going to be a long 2 or 3 years, man.

Do you think the wrs we currently have aren't open? Cooper is going to have the same problem. The guy is living off what he did 2 years ago just like Dak.

I agree 100 percent.

And if Cooper went to Philly for a first, I guarantee there would be fans here saying the Eagles would now win the East and roast the Cowboys for not pulling the trigger for another talented young player. And more "We Like Our Guys" Garrett quotes.

Philly has a great QB. We don't.
