It depends on the team and who the coach is. I had a look at the Raiders roster, and I think they look quite in need for a LB. I reckon Gruden might be willing to part ways with a 2nd, especially since Lee is the sort of chap that Gruden likes. While Lee does get injured a lot, he is an experienced player, and he's clearly the sort of chap that would be a coach on the field. Plus, I recall how much he glossed on Lee on MNF when he was calling our games. So, he clearly likes him, and I think a 2nd, as injured as Lee tends to be, wouldn't be a bad move for the Raiders. However, considering the FO would want a say in it, let's call it a 3rd. So, I'd say a 2nd or a 3rd from the Raiders.

There's no way I'd give up a premium draft pick for an oft injured 30 something year old lb, if the Cowboys trade to get Sean Lean and gave up anything more than a conditional 7th rounder I'd be upset.

I'm pretty sure that Stephan ran this by Jerry before any move was made

Doesn’t matter. Because in a few years Stephen won’t have to run anything past his dad.

So the fact he thought this was a really smart move that needed to be made is the real scary thing.

My passion and enjoyment of this team has already been waning...then this.

This... was a spear through the heart.

Check the stats...…....Dez had more yards and less drops last season compared to Cooper.

I judge players off their actual production...……...Dez was better than Cooper in 2017, the stats don't lie.

Cooper was hurt for part of the season.

If you don't like that example, I will give you another one...…...Vince Young.....great rookie year and then went down hill from there.

My point being is that there are many many examples of QBs that have great rookie seasons and then just slowly go downhill from there. Maybe the league gets tape on them, maybe they get injured, maybe they get beaten like a rented mule in a sack parade game and they get the yips from there on out (possibly Dak's problem), ect….

You make it sound like if a QB has a great rookie season, they will continue to play like that year after year.....that is just not the case and many examples prove it.

At this point I'm willing to wait until the end of the season to pass judgment on the guy and this offense.

And guess what?

Even if you aren't willing to wait... Doesn't matter.

Cowboys aren't going to do anything about the QB situation this season and maybe not next season either.

Enjoy.

Now that I think about it more, I like it. 1st round receiver with speed. Isn't that what we wanted?

When they do nothing we whine, when they do something we whine. I thought I liked the QB class this year, I was wrong. The crop next year is much better.

Continue your crying now.

Watch what Garrett does with this move .

What does Jerry think Garrett will do with amari cooper ?

Jerry needs to trade for 22 pro-bowl players, each in every position so that Garrett can make the playoffs and win .

More like 53 pro-bowl players. JG can't win if one starter gets injured.

By any account out there, this was one (if not the worst) group of WR's in the NFL.

The Cowboys greatly improved the group today.

Did they overpay?

Maybe. Maybe not.

We should have a better idea by the end of the season.

Haven't read all 2,397 pages of this thread yet, but my guess is there are those who have said, "You could have had Dez w/o giving up a single draft pick."

And my reply is, as much as I didn't want this trade to go down, I can understand why it did. (1) You came into the season thinking that TWill would continue to be a force, and that (2) Austin might be enough of an add that the committee approach could work. Both of those guys are going to miss a hunk of the season now. And (3) Cooper seems to bring some of the same toughness as Dez did in his prime, but with a bit more speed, and (4) with none... none... of the locker room or sideline drama.

Terrible to give up first round pick. He will be cut in 2 years, while the pick likely turns into a pro bowler.
