Mike Mayock -- prior to the 2017 draft:
"Now we're getting into the freak zone. He's a genetic freak. I thought his tape was really solid. What I like is he's a matchup player. ... His movement skills for his length, his ability to get in and out of breaks, his tackling, he's got first-round talent all-day long."

The price and risks involved for Dallas is low, while the return on the investment could be high.
And we are talking the Raiders here -- complete dumpster fire in full bloom -- their quick & careless trigger in evaluating & discarding players may backfire.
Just think of it this way...people always complain how you can't match up w/ Gronk..I think this guy could give you that option...if we get that far...to the Super Bowl

He looked pretty good @ the Sr bowl..my first thought was a taller Darren Woodson...
I agree he looked like a keeper in the Senior Bowl. I have my doubts about him now but the coaches have their butts in a sling and will most likely be gone if things do not turn around. I know they will be turning over every stone if they expect to be here in 2019.

What have they got to lose? It's not like S is a position of strength or Gruden's throwing out the trash. Cooper can also give them some insight since he practiced against him.

Man, you look at the Giants and Raiders now and it's a race to the top...…...of the draft order.

I read this article that Gruden wants his own guys in there, just what are Gruden guys? All grinders? I also read where the team was more upset about Cooper and the circumstances than losing Mack, a top 3 D player in the league.

One thing puzzling me is why keep Reggie McKenzie on as GM, does he know what a Gruden guy is? Evidently, Gruden guys are drafts picks yet to be determined. Does Gruden fashion himself as the latter day Jimmy Johnson?
I think he just wants his own team built the way he want.

Nobody talks about it but Pete Carroll did the same thing. He gutted that entire Seahawks team that Mike Homgrin(I know I spelled this wrong, pls don’t judge me I’m sorry) built within two years and remember they had gone to the super bowl just recently before Pete arrived out of USC.

Gruden took a lot of flack when he won the super bowl because all the media, nfl insiders and just ppl invoices with the league period said that that wasn’t his super bowl team, that was Dungy Super Bowl because he inherited that team that Dunfy built from the bottom

He's like a byron clone. Combine warrior with **** instincts and can't play safety at the nfl level.
Don't say that. If that's true then we'll sign him to a long contract and he'll be our starting safety. Our FO loves players who can't play safety and our safeties.

He's a rookie minimum guy for the next 3 years. That's less than $800K a season.

Churning the bottom of the roster is nothing new, and is just necessary. Parcells was reminding people of that all the time, and it's no different now.

Guy has a boat load of talent, costs us practically nothing during the bye to have our future HC pick his brain and poke his hip.
